I doubt last name Hansen is Chinese

Now Yao Ming was real name

We had input from Chinese guy yesterday, apparently Han-sen is a Chinese name.

It's 100% a Chinese name lol. It's 3 characters, yang is the last name character Han and Sen are two seperate characters for the first name.

I just watched the Yang Hansen highlights, and there's zero question why someone would take him that high.

I apologize, Hansen. I was not familiar with your game.

He's not the Chinese Jokic, but could he have a Marc Gasol ceiling?

Is that crazy?

I'm excited to get an NBA-look at Yang soon to start answering that question.

Jokic is only one -Serbian Jokic

Only other is on the Nets -Israeli Jokic

Danny Wolf is American. You got so many rookies you can't keep their nationalities straight? :D

Yeah, pro tip for every one: Chinese family names are almost always one syllable (Yang, Chen, Wang, etc) and like 90% of the time, given names are two syllables. Yao Ming was an exception. Yang Hansen follows the rule.

Technically, it's characters, not syllables, but generally they appear as syllables when transliterated.

A lot of the names you listed are in Cantonese though.

E.g. Sun Yat-Sen is Sun ZhongShan in Mandarin. I'm pretty sure you're kidding with Chan Jacky

Yes, Zhong Shan instead of Yat-Sen. It still follows the rule. Same for whatever Jacky Chan's Mandarin name is: I pretty much guarantee it follows the rule.

I was half-joking, but also just using examples for people who will never speak Chinese or recognize any difference between Cantonese and Mandarin.

2026 was expected to be better at the top, but all the depth (in this draft) went back to college for NIL money.

They are so similar.

6'7/6'8 heavy long armed wings that specializes in defense but cant shoot worth a dang..

CMB is more Draymond or PJ Tucker, Penda is more Diaw or Kyle Anderson. He shouldve gone r1 as well..

They can probably move Grayson Allen and fill other holes as well.

Ishbia's revenge on the basketball world?

They traded two picks for Mark Williams.

I agree that they improved their depth and should see what they can get for Allen. Maybe the Mavs are willing to move PJ Washington?

I know he's not a 50+ million dollar player, but has his ability to play basketball dropped off that much? If he was paid 5 million would Phoenix look to get rid of him?

That's the rumor. But he has a NTC, so a trade is not an option. They're just done with him.

I'd be surprised if it happens. When is the last time a athlete had that much money left on his deal and a team paid it so he would go away?

Yep and I'm surprised.

NBA contract are so crazy today that I guess we'll see stuff like this happen from time to time. First Dame and now Beal.

Here's the google AI result for "Jacky Chan mandarin name:"

Jackie Chan's original Chinese name is Chan Kong-sang (陳港生). His birth name translates to "born in Hong Kong". He also has a stage name, Cheng Long (成龍), which is often used in his films.

The mandarin pinyin of his name would be Chen (maybe the most common Chinese family name? It's up there...) Gang-Sheng.

The two-syllable name, because of its rarity, may be considered a bit flashy (my own educated guess). His stage name could mean "successful dragon."
