The negative reaction to this piece just proves how heartless and really dehumanizing the view of today’s NBA players are among fans specifically online ones. It’s rather sad.

"Person reacts to situations like a human, some completely understandable, some I probably wouldn't have, but understand"

Everyone online "He's a piece of **** he needs to give up his lively hood and dreams because I think he makes too much money"

The popular reaction to Embiid is a very gross part of NBA fandom that we should all be slightly embarrassed of, in my opinion. I think it’s at best, unfortunate, and at worst, downright reprehensible.

That pretty much sums up Joel Embiid. Adversity reveals character.

When he decided to forever not attending team meeting instead of trying to be a a good team member/leader and be on time after getting called out tells you his approach to challenges.

1. They apparently had an intern overseeing his rehab when he initially broke it prior to being drafted. Very bad look on the 76ers.
2. His take away from the team meeting being leaked is that he's never going to one again, not the fact that he is usually late and sometimes not even around at team events.
3. Him ghosting the trainer after nearly a decade working with her since she couldnt spend much time with him because of having kids. Tells me all I need to know about him, it's a one way road for him.
He's a man child. We already knew this.

I don't mean to be crass but go ahead and join the rest of us in this thing we call life. What you can't do is emotionally shut down forever and refuse to process your experiences. That leaves you a prisoner of your past and will poison anything you try to do.

I feel for you Joel, I really do. I lost a very close cousin to a drunk driver in my teens so I do understand. But as an adult and especially as a man, you have to find your way through that stuff one way or another.
Everyone is different in how they go through things. There isn't a right or wrong way to get over it.
Their lens is their lens. I've experienced this personally and just dealing with people constantly on a daily basis.
