Yep. My grandma and grandpa got together at 14 and 19, and were married for over 60 years, until my grandma died 5 years ago. Gramps died 2 years later. RIP <3 They had 3 beautiful children, both of them worked full time jobs well past retirement age to support family, bought land and built their own homes. They were excellent role models. During one of our holiday parties one of my younger cousins once asked them about the age gap and they said age gaps like that weren't a big deal in those times.

I don’t want to comment on your family dynamic.

But this girl wasn’t even 14, she was 12. Is there an age where this doesn’t fit your world view re “that time”? Would it be different if she was 11? 10?

Just a very weird discussion. It was rape. She was a child.

My personal opinion is that yes, 10 and 11 is too young. I guess I just felt the need to reminisce about my grandparents after reading the post I quoted.

I was scared to read this thread and some of the replies given how some of the more political ones have gone lately.

I was proved wrong.

Good job RGM.

And good on Wemby for using his platform as an athlete to speak out.
Robert Horry is better than MJ, because everybody knows that 7>6.

But did he speak out?
Looks like he just wanted attention, so he reposted a really silly meme instead of saying something...

Oh **** off, of course 12 is too young. Sorry I didn't reply to that perfectly.

Edit: Sorry, my fuse is short today

I agree start with the person that wanted the death penalty of the Central Park 5.

Oh he's the one that prosecuted and convicted them?

Or was he led to believe they were guilty like everyone else?

Dumb ass.

You get so emotional that you resort to calling other posters names. You’re too emotional right now. Message me tomorrow when you relax.

It's a very strange thing in NBA history that this happened and that Malone wasn't ever put in jail for it. Ill never support that, but with that said I'm glad that Malone and his son made peace recently. So as far as I'm concerned I leave it alone and can very much go ahead and wish the man a happy birthday, and can respectively talk about his basketball career on topic whenever it's a part of the conversation.

Wemby is entitled to making his voice heard, but I don't see it making any difference so oh well. He said what he said, and more than likely the nba will wish the Mailman a happy birthday next year too.

Just my 2 cents.

No, he’s the one who 22 years after they were exonerated, during a presidential debate claimed they were guilty and had killed someone. The woman did not die in the case they were wrongly convicted of.

To the people saying this was somehow more "normal" when Malone was young: I'm the same age as Malone (2 months older), and it was not in any way acceptable, to anyone in NA, anyway. I mean, I liked 12 & 13 year-old girls, WHEN I WAS 12 & 13 YEARS OLD! That's pretty much how it worked, and I knew a lot of "hillbilly" types where I grew up. Only dumbasses were doing stuff like Malone was. We knew what pedos were back then, too. Good grief.

Here's what you wrote earlier:

You made a claim, busted out statistics, and acted like it was common history people should know. When you make claims, it's incumbent on you to support your claims. If the claims you make are true, that should be a piece of cake for someone as tech savvy as you.

You should start by using ChatGPT to find out how many people were in federal prison for sex crimes with minors prior to 2003. It’s a number far greater than zero. Almost like there were laws against that sort of thing.

And since I was alive in the 80’s, I’m happy to report that I thought raping a child was immoral then too.

Of course people were in jail before that time every state make their own laws. Having sex outside of marriage was immoral in the 80s. You can't refute the facts.

1. Having sex with minors was also immoral in the 80’s

2. I asked you to look up how many people are in federal prison because of sex crimes with minors before 2003. You go to federal prison for breaking federal crimes. And pedos have been going to federal prison since well before 2003. How did they get there if they weren’t committing federal crimes?

3. Still waiting on you to source your claim about black males in the south. You talk about refuting facts but haven’t even provided a fact to refute…

Have you used ChatGPT? it can fact check anything you want. Give it a try and only come back if you find something different.

I would triple fact check chatgpt folks. I work with AI a lot and there is a lot of misinformation even with chatgpt. It still thinks Kyrie had 3 finals mvp votes in 2016.

No 12 year old is looking like a college girl unless she had a health condition that made her look significantly older. Besides he’s a well known college basketball star at that point and could likely get any college girl he wanted.

Yet he went after a 12 year old. Called her his girlfriend. That’s **** sick
