Blatant racism.
White cis males commit the most mass shootings. Usually using a weapon stolen from dad.

Responding to racism with more racism doesn't make you any better.
Can this thread just be about her and not whatever bull agenda people want to push?

Unbelievable.
Poor Naz.
If just asians and whites had guns, the USA would be safer than Switzerland as it pertains to gun crime and one of the safest countries in the world. So indeed, it's not the guns it's the people.
Furthermore, look at every genocidal dictatorship across history. One of the first thing they do is ban guns. Guns first and foremost are a protection against tyranny. There is a reason the 1st two amendments of the Constitution are Freedom of Speech, and Right to Bear Arms. Those two rights are any nations most important rights. The State shouldn't have a monopoly on speech or weaponry.
So it's quite disturbing when I see ignorant posts like yours, and that type of thought is the reason government tyranny persists around the world.
For you leftists: Do you really want Donald Trump, and his military or the police to have a monopoly on guns?
Striked and banned for this political, racist post. Account under review.

Ducklett wrote:While I have always been an advocate for requiring similar requirements to gun ownership as a driver's license (passing exams and tests), the studies have shown there are many countries with higher % population of gun ownership than the US (around 33% of adults have a gun) with WAY less firearm deaths per 100000 people (both including and not including suicide counts, which is think I stupid to include in firearm deaths but whatever). Obviously the US has a gun issue, but that gun issue is a product of a deeper, more profound issue that needs to be studied and discussed instead of the lazy gun debate we have now.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Estimated_number_of_civilian_guns_per_capita_by_country
A couple honest questions:
1. What countries have higher gun ownership rates? The US, by number of guns, is off the charts. Removing Yemen and super small countries, the US is 3-5x higher than the next counties on the list above. Huge difference between 40% of the population have 1 hunting shotgun stored in a cabinet versus the US where where the % with at least 1 gun is lower but they have a bunch of assault rifles and handguns left in the glove department of the car
2. I would be curious what the gun laws are for those countries. A lot of the recent shooting have been from people with mental issues AND have bought the gun recently. I think even anti-gun people would be ok with higher gun ownership if it meant strict rules on certifications, background checks, etc. I don't know how you can pooh-pooh saying gun laws aren't an issue because of gun ownership rates without looking at the details.

So it also definitely is a Left vs Right issue. The Left is way too lenient on crime. And we can thank people like George Soros with his hundreds of millions of USAID money who implants his DAs and allows criminals to persecute the common citizen.

These are real solutions that have been brought about in the real world for real countries that had real problems with gun homicides and now have real drops in homicide rates after they really brought in strict gun laws.
Everything you just said had nothing to do with guns. Guns don’t kill people. People kill people.
Those countries you brag about don’t have strict gun laws - they have increased gun law Enforcement! Those countries you brag about have other real solutions in place too, because the true complex solutions required aren’t as singular or naive as you are trying to make it.
America has many gun laws. Some of the states and cities where these shootings happen most often have some of the most strict gun laws in the country.
You and anyone in your groupthink running around saying gun laws as the solution aren’t trying to really address the solution. If anything, this is detouring and detracting from the real solutions that will drive real change in America.
Most US states with the highest rates of gun related crimes are states that have lax/little gun regulations. Gun laws and "gun enforcement" are the same thing, regulations regarding guns and their usage/ownership. States that do have stronger laws also suffer, because someone can simply go to a less regulated state and buy a gun there and bring it back home.
Also, as others have noted, other countries exist and no modern country on the planet has gun crime issues near as bad as the US does. Unless the US is just inherently more violent than other nations regardless of anything else, then yes, we can conclude (as many studies have) that gun do lead to more violence. The US is the only country where pretty much anyone can get pretty much any gun, it is no coincidence we have more gun crime than any other modern country does several times over.
Gun laws and gun law enforcement are NOT even close to same thing. If you think so you are part of the problem and not the solution.
Gun laws in America are not enforced unequivocally or universally. When someone violates a gun law already in place (many many federal and state gun laws already exist) it’s a slap on the wrist at worst - and people breaking said law are back on the streets within hours. Enforcement of the guns laws that already exist don’t detour the next person from committing a gun crime - because ENFORCEMENT isn’t taken seriously in America.
Tell you what, do you fear the enforcement (punishment) for illegal act of jaywalking? How many people jaywalk everyday without a second thought of laws in place. But all kinds of jaywalking laws are on the books - but yet people still do it - everyday.
What if enforcement of jaywalking laws were quick and severe. How would you think about jaywalking then? How sharply would jaywalking incidents decrease.
And again gun law enforcement is only one part of a complex issue. Real discussion is needed beyond politicized ‘gun control’ garbage. Those words should make everyone sick - because it’s not a path to a real solution. And no not sick because we should all own guns - smart gun ownership is part of the solution. But a small part that due to its lighting rod political content detours from real solutions being discussed.

Guns don’t kill people.
America can’t boil this issue down to one singular root cause - but until the root causeS can be discussed - real solutions won’t be found and implemented which means no real change.
Blaming guns as single source of problem isn’t fair to the real solutions and does everyone a disservice.
Might as well do nothing then
Their argument might as well mean that we shouldn't have any laws on drugs, or stealing since people will still look to commit thievery, so why place laws on them right?
The "guns don't kill people" crowd are legitimately one of the dumbest set of people society at large has ever seen. Their is no logic or reasoning with them, only their love for murder devices.
Sandy Hook was the line that was crossed, and America were in favor of guns over kids.

What if we do away with the incentive to remove the father from the home by cleaning up the welfare system? Pattern recognition is not racist. Many of the criminals that society is tired of dealing with are committed by people who grew up raised by a single mother. It's an endless cycle of excuses and we're sick of it.

Doesn't Trump, by taking control of the state-controlled military, already show the ability to have a monopoly on the military in the United States?
If the president can control the State military, who is protecting the State from the Federal Government?
I agree that someone as tyrannical as Trump having full control of weapons within a country could be seen as horrifying for both sides of the fence, which begs the question, why did one side vote for him

I'm more than ready to pay higher taxes to build larger prisons and keep maniacs where they're supposed to be. How many priors did the thug who killed the beautiful Ukraine girl on the train have? 6?
