Grant Hill has been doing all the right things since assuming the managing director role for USA Basketball.

Well-deserved for Coach Spo.

Deserving but gold medal in 2028 Olympics is going to be tough because they will likely be withough the generational player -- LBJ, Curry, KD.

The All-NBA players in their 20s are going to have to step up, Booker, Ant, Hali and Tatum post Achilles, etc.

We will see if Grant Hill manages to get Spoelstra good roster for 2027 FIBA World Cup. 2019 and 2023 FWC rosters were very bad.

Well, it was tough for that group, too. Times have changed and I like to think most realize how challenging it is.

The US will still be heavy favorites, but a re-match between US and France could be epic if a couple of the young guys around Victor end up panning out in the next couple of years.

Copper Flagg should play for Canada.

Congratulations Spo.

Of course, there are many candidates for this job but it's a very solid appointment.

Well deserved!

Sorry but this isnt true. Tournament knockout basketball vs seeing guys everyday in a long season is a completely different beast. I like the hire but we shall see if he can adapt in tuning a team he has 2 weeks to mold.

I still remember how much lack of respect Spoelstra got on this board when he first became the head coach. As a knick fan much respect for Miami for keeping a constant stable coaching staff.

Sometimes I feel like Spo prefers small ball even more than Kerr does. Hopefully, he isn't so wedded to it.

Well, he was already their top assistant coach, so I doubt there will be a big change. But as International basketball fan, it breaks my heart seeing basketball fans talk 2028 when literal World cup of Basketball is in 2027...

Yeah, but he was unknown replacing absolute legend. Same thing is happening in SA right now, people seem to hate new Spurs coach just cause hes new mostly.

Not even that. Most people on this board thought he was a first year head coach when Lebron joined the Heat. When in fact it was his third year and he had already made the playoffs his first two seasons  no one but Heat fans paid attention his first two seasons.
