I am leaving Shaq off because I think the majority of his dominant years came pre-2000. I also left Garnett and Wade off because I don't think they were as dominant/transformative as Nash/Harden.
It's a bit weird to see this comment from a Heat fan.
In my opnion peak Wade is the best player of this group (him, KG,Nash, Harden).
He was a retentless slasher and elite two-way player.
Wade was amazing, but I think teaming up with LeBron cut off his individual trajectory, which is why I picked Dirk over Wade.
There is def an argument for Wade > the guys you mentioned, but Nash changed the way basketball was played and almost won 3 straight MVPs -- and probably would have if the media decided they couldn't live with Nash having a 3-straight MVP legacy.
I think Harden's peak > Wade's peak. Harden was top-3 in MVP voting 5 years and was one of the most unguardable guys the NBA has ever seen. It isn't often you see a guy capable of both leading the league in scoring and assists. Of course, Wade was a MUCH better defender.
