I'm trying to assess the chances of the Warriors this year and I keep coming back to the thought that it's a shame it took Steph (37), Jimmy (36), Draymond (35) and Al (39) this long before playing together. They're old and no team relying on players close to their age has been successful in winning a championship or even getting close really. The most notable probably were the 1997 Houston Rockets that had Olajuwon (34), Drexler (34) and Barkley (33) and they were booted out in the conference finals. Given the history expecting the Warriors to go deep and make noise is a long shot to say the least.
That does lead me back though to wondering how good this team would be if they were younger. I'd expect them to be very very good, champions even. But if one considers their reputations when they were younger they probably wouldn't be big favorites even if they had played together back then. Steph, Jimmy, Draymond, and Al all share the characteristic of generally being underrated. Are they still underrated? If those four were all in their prime now, how strong would the Warriors be?

If they are healthy they can beat anyone, they combine elite skill and strength, but health is huge suspect here.
They also have 6.5 PO rotation players, they nees to trade for another one at the deadline.

If they were all in their primes they'd easily be the best team in the NBA. Not better than the 2017 iteration but better than the 2022 Warriors for sure. Probably 2015 also
