Literally not one of those players is a more impactful defender than Zubac outside of Gobert, nice try though. And the 3-4 prior years only Bam and Gobert were ever better defenders in this list.

He said they are EITHER the focal point of their own offense OR have had DPOY level impact on their team. I don't think he said anyone was both. Sengun/Sabonis are focal points of their offense. Adebayo/Gobert are the DPOY level players. None are both, hence him using OR.

Lately if you see sengun as focal point offense than you should see zubac is as he is the only legit inside threat for clips while for houston sengun is being sat out late game due to defensive matchups

Screener part is odd. He’s one of the best screeners in the NBA I thought lol

Sabonis the most talented out of those listed but Zu has been great this year. Really underrated throughout his career.

On serious note, i think he is really, really good player, but in recent couple of weeks getting a bit overrated. Some guys on podcasts had him on their DPOY ballot, some even top 2 which is crazy IMO.
His improvement should be a lesson for the upcomming young guys. This guy has been seen as liability on defense and non factor on offense in his early days and he improved slowly every year, and now he is one of the best defenders at his position and a threat in the post or as a roll man on the offense.
Great story, go ZU!

What I think people underrate is the ability to actually play within your established abilities. Zubac is that to T. He didn’t all of a sudden start chucking threes like Brook Lopez. He knows what he good at, knows what he is a liability at. Playing within those parameters. Important to note, his coaches don’t put him in a position to fail. He grew into the player he became progressively. Wemby who has exponentially more talent than him, chucks so many threes when he can play like Zubac and likely be more efficient over the entire season.
