If I'm understanding correctly, he was on the freeway and traffic was stopped due to an accident up ahead. Then they cleared the crash and traffic was supposed to start moving, but Pierce had fallen asleep lol.

What exactly does ‘suspicion of DUI’ mean in this case? Was a field sobriety test performed? Did he blow, or was a sample collected? If the answer’s ‘no’ to any of those, he’s probably walking. Were there any aggravating factors? And even if this is his first offense, it’ll likely be just a slap on the wrist.

This story’s light on key details, so I’ll hold off on judgment until more facts come out.

EDIT: I'm not paying the $4.75 to access the case file open to the public either. Funding for mod salaries was cut recently.

Because he's suspected of driving drunk. Until he's convicted of it he is presumed innocent.

Plus I think there might be some sort of civil liability if the report said he was driving drunk.

So...even if he wins this, that could mean he'll lose his license. Generally, it's smart to refuse any and all tests until at the station and they have you blow there. That one is generally required. And if he were sober, smart to just do that. If not...then yeah for sure let your lawyers take care of it when you're worth millions.

All this said, I'm rather interested in the body cam footage of this one.

When I first moved to Ohio I was doing trips back and fourth between ohio and kentucky. Poor planning, I realized I still needed to pay my last month's rent...back then I was dropping off a check in a mailbox.

2 hour drive both ways...I ended up sleeping about 3 hours in a parking lot myself.
