Let's say the top 5 players are all healthy-where will the 2026 NBA First Team stack up vs. others in history. The idea is, the 5 guys play other first teams from history from the year. This is a good article about 10 great ones from the past

I think SGA/Luka/Giannis/Wemby/Jokic could top out as the best ever. Of course, Edwards, Brunson or someone else could get onto the first team, but I think-right now-the five I listed will most likely be the first team.
Would that team beat any other in a matchup. The length of Wemby/Giannis would be awesome to see, and Luka/Joker set up the offense. SGA can create one-on-one looks extremely well, and is also good on D. The rebounding would be off the charts as well.
Obviously, the season hasn't happened, but just assume all the guys play near their peak. Hard to say what that is for Wemby, but we assume it's awesome.

1988 still the best.
Replace one of Jokic or Luka with Ant and you have a case at second GOAT 1st team all NBA, all NBA team, iy becomes much better fit.

First time in NBA history the entire first team is comprised of international players. That in itself would be historic.

I voted for could be top 5 for sure.
We saw that Magic, Jordan, Bird, and Barkley had good chemistry together. I’m not sure of the fit of this other team. Giannis is playing small forward?
I always disliked how historically, all-NBA teams could have 2 point guards, 2 power forwards, but only 1 center. The best all-NBA team from the 60s would have Wilt and Russell. I also think that small forward is more like shooting guard than power forward, since it’s a wing and not a big. Paul Pierce was more similar to Kobe Bryant than Tim Duncan.

It's 5 great players and I guess you could just have Jokic facilitating cuts by Giannis/Wemby but you'd probably want a Curry type instead of Luka there. It's a very clunky fit all-round, so nah, not the greatest All NBA team if they are playing a theoretical game.

Even though Giannis is awesome, the team would be better if a shooter like Edwards replaced him.
Jokic surrounded by 4 guys who can shoot, and Wemby covering for Jokic's weaknesses defensively.
