It's 3 games in, but no one is close.

This…..its Wemby’s nba right now. Spurs are 3-0 and Wemby is unreal right now.

Spurs 3-0 and so far his numbers are GOAT level. Its a wrap. And he's the DPOY. This isn't even fair.

You’re that confident based off a 3 game sample size?

Yes because this is a version of Wemby most of us saw coming from day 1. He's arrived.

Obviously if you're right Wemby will win MVP

it's way too early to say that any one player is definitely going to win. Luka, SGA, Wemby, Giannis would all have the GOAT NBA season if you projected their entire year based off the first 3 games

Kind of crazy that Giannis could have his best year stat wise and not get a first place vote at this pace. It's fun as hell and glad the other guys are in the West

"no one is close", "it ain't close".
If you're 15 years old you can say things like that about guys who are posting 35 and 40pts daily along with other crazy things like 20 boards or 8 blocks.
Of course it's close and it will remain close.
Monster games are happening frequently for lots of players at this era.

Stop posting laughable things like these though. It doesn't validate your arguments.

Who is your pick after 3?

Outside of Wemby, no one is posting anything sustainable. Unless you think Giannis, Luka or Shai will average 40 for the rest of the year.

Wemby is doing things no-one else can replicate and he doesn't need to score 40 to do so. That isn't even mentioning how the Spurs are 3-0.

If its close in your opinion, who is currently close to Wemby? And how will that player keep it close? Shai basically is the only player at the moment at 2nd for me and he can't even impact the game defensively like Wemby can. Hypothetical if the award was given after 3 games, its going to Wemby and no one would bat an eye.

Sheesh, you're lovely today...
We're posting based on 3 games, and based on these 3 games, it isn't close.

The difference we've already seen 3 of those guys in their prime. The notion that they are going to have some crazy outlier season is kind of ridiculous. In fact, their teams will probably expect them to pull back due to load management. On the other hand, Victor isn't doing anything extraordinary. He's just playing his game. Wemby led the league in blocks last year and he played 46 games. The rebounds he's getting are happening merely by being closer to the rim. He's decided to attack the rim and stop shooting so many 3's so he goes to the free throw line more. Wemby's ordinary games are the equivalent of other elite players extraordinary games. Wemby's going to have 15 blocks in a game. He's going to probably have a 30/30 game. I don't know why people can't accept the fact that when your 7'6 with an 8'0 wingspan, can shoot and can move fluidly the game is just different for you. Spurs lead the league in point differential and they haven't lost.

Wemby impacts every possession offense and defense more than any other player in the league. If he stays healthy giving someone else the MVP would be an absolute travesty. And this is the worst he'll be. If we're being honest, Wemby should win 8 or 9 MVPS in a row along with 8 or 9 DPOYs in a row. If the Spurs can get some better wings - Barnes and Champagnie aren't good enough - the Spurs could go on a dynastic championship run. I really don't think people are understanding and grasping what we are seeing lol. This is the worst he's going to be.

Wemby leveling up like this makes this, potentially, one of the most fun MVP races.
"Wes, Hill, Ibaka, Allen, Nwora, Brook, Pat, Ingles, Khris are all slow-mo, injury prone ... a sandcastle waiting for playoff wave to get wrecked. A castle with no long-range archers... is destined to fall. That is all I have to say."-- FOTIS

It's way too early for it to be meaningful but Spurs 3-0 with Wemby putting up big numbers means he is the frontrunner at the moment.

Wemby BPM by season:
2023: +5.2

2025: +16.1 (Highest ever)

Do you personally think what Wemby is doing is sustainable?

His game has changed. He stopped shooting 9 3's a game and now he attacks the hoop. People need to stop bringing up last year Wemby lol. Just trying to win an argument instead of having a genuine conversation. Watch the game and tell me what is unsustainable about his performances.

People bring up last year Wemby because its relevant to how sustainable Wemby's GOAT level performance this year is. If Wemby had a +15 BPM last year, him averaging a +16 BPM for the entire season this year would seem more sustainable.

Why can't it hover around 16?

We're talking about a player who first off is basically 1 of 1, and has increased his level of play in just one off season. The eye test and stats all back it up. You forget he's 21 years old. It's all upside from here. Whatever it ends up being (BPM) I am fairly confident he will lap the field if he stays healthy.

Nobody has ever had a BPM over 14 for a season. But maybe you are right and Wemby authors by far the greatest season ever
