Who's fans represents the most per capita on RealGM?

Post#1 » by DelaneyRudd » Tue Jan 22, 2008 8:59 am

Based on TV market size, what fan base is best represented on RealGM? Sure there are a lot of Raptor fans but they have a region with as many people as California at their disposal, and even if you only count Toronto-Mississuaga-Hamilton market it still huge.

It definitely has to be Milwaukee. They are sandwitched between two other NBA markets. Gotta give it up for my birth state, they represent.

I'd assume because in Canada, every sports channel/radio broadcast/media outlet available to us is constantly filled with hockey, hockey and more hockey. So to get our basketball fix... we need to use the Internet or get illegal satellite. That would be my assumption.

Realgm should add a feature that allows posters to select what team they root for so people could actually know what team has the biggest fanbase here, but Toronto is definitely number 1.

I guess some of you don't know what "per capita" means?

the bucks and raptors have got to be the top 2 imo.

Milwaukee.

I recall one time when someone started a thread on the Bucks board asking why it has over 400,000 posts, and the responses were mixed. One response was "because there's nothing better to do in Milwaukee". Yeah, winter sucks here in Milwaukee, but seriously, what an ignorant and stereotypical post. The reason it's got over 400,000 posts is because we Bucks fans hold heavy allegiances to our team. Now matter how bad things get, we are always die-hard Bucks fans.

a simple game thread for toronto goes like 70+ pages. Thats too much imo. Milwaukee has a bunch of fans.

Wait til next year with Oden and Portland improving, all sorts of fans will come from hiding.
