2008 All star starters? Any complaints?

Post#1 » by WadeKnicks2010 » Fri Jan 25, 2008 4:21 am

East :

Kidd
Wade
LeBron
Garnett
Howard

West:
Iverson
Kobe
Carmelo
Duncan
Yao

The East is solid. All of them deserve to have their spot.

As for the West, I'm really splitting hairs here but I'd like to have had Chris Paul in for Iverson. Iverson's a fantastic player, one of my favorites, but CP3 is playing better and its clear for anyone to see.. Its nothing I'd complain about though, they're both fantastic and they'll both be there one way or another and they both deserve to be in this game.

I'd also have liked someone other than Carmelo Anthony for the second forward position.. This one is the real one I didn't like.. Carmelo is not a complete player at both ends, and he's kind of a chucker offensively despite what his stats say. He doesn't try very hard to get his teammates involved at all and he is an extremely poor defender..

No, nothing outrageous. No Shaq, no McGrady.... that's all you can ask of the idiot masses.

Chauncey Billups over Jason Kidd/Dwyane Wade? The Pistons>>NJN>>Miami. Kidd's scoring/shooting is horrible and Wade's team is piss (plus ongoing injuries).

id def put nash ahead of iverson
During the Wizards' rout, a heckler yelled at new Knick Steve Francis, "Hey Stevie, Where are you going next?" Francis turned to the fan and quipped, "To the bank."

Wake up, the all star game is about individuals not teams. It never has.
Plus kidd and wade are better players.

The Nugget's don't deserve two starters. I'd take out Melo, pump A.I. and Kobe up a position, and make either Nash or Paul the starting PG.

In the East, I really don't think Kidd's worthy of starting. Like was mentioned, he's an atrocious offensive player playing on an underachieving sub-.500 team. But the East is just too weak at PG, so he's in by default.

For me: Paul or Nash over AI
And Dirk or Boozer over Carmelo.

Agreed with others who said there's nothing ridiculous. Probably the most glaring is Melo who I'd probably leave off the all-star team all together. I'm also guessing that with Melo getting that spot, Camby is going to miss out on the all-star recognition yet. Too bad. If it were up to me Camby would be an all-star this year.

Yeah I agree with all of you. This was as much as you can expect out of fan voting.. Nothing truly outrageous, and the biggest hole was Carmelo Anthony if anything.. Usually you'd have Vince Carter, Tracy McGrady, and Shaq in the starting lineups for no reason.
