I discovered the true motives behind the Shaq trade. In a nutshell it's all about draft positioning... Let me explain:
The Phoenix Suns own Atlanta's 2008 unprotected 1st round draft pick.
The Miami Heat are scheduled to play the Hawks 3 times before the season is over.
You see by sending Shawn Marion and Marcus Banks to the Heat for Shaquille O'Neal the Heat now have the chance to potentially beat the Hawks 3 times, and with numerous teams in the Leastern conference competing for the lower seeds it is conceivable that those 3 losses the Hawks will face at the hands of the Heat will end up sending the Hawks to the lottery, which would allow the Suns to have a lottery pick... A lottery pick which they could use to acquire a talented wing player at a fraction of the cost Marion is making.
Any thoughts? Comments?
The Truth.

Thats absurd. Look at draft before last. Toronto gets the first pick ahead of 4 other better positioned teams. The lottery is called the lottery for a reason. No one is going to trade an important piece of their roster on the basis of some Dr.evil diabolic plan. Nash is getting older. They are in win now mode. Shaq was brought in for only one reason. To bang with the western big-boys come playoff time.
