Kobe Is So Selfish

Post#1 » by dlts20 » Mon Feb 18, 2008 2:40 am

Ive been thinking about this for the past 5 days but I never made a thread because I figured you guys had already talked about it and you may still have but I didnt see it yet.

Im not a Kobe hater at all so dont jump on me but what is he doing playing in the All Star Game? Thats so insulting to me. You have guys like Caron & KG give there spots away because of injury but Kobe cant? Instead his coach, GM, the All Star Coach, and Kobe himself all say they dont want him to play but they make a plan for him to play 3 minutes and then sit?

To me thats a spit in the face to the other guys in the West. Why couldnt you give your spot up to Baron Davis, Camby, Jackson, or some other snub? That makes me so mad. Dont act like he didnt have time either because he did. Caron didnt say he was out until late. I bet both Caron & KG could play 3 minutes but why would they want to take a spot from another deserving guy? Then you have the nerve to say that you dont even really want to play? You can still go be there just like KG & Caron but you couldve gave your spot to someone else espically if your not going to play but 3 "token" minutes. You know they didnt play those 3 minutes for the fans. They did it because of just what Im talking about now. They did it because they knew he had to play some or he would look bad. I havent heard one single media person even talk about it. That is so classless to me

I agree. I would have loved to see Baron Davis play. He definitely deserved it.

He will be suspended if he doesn't play for the next game. That is the rule of NBA

If he doesn't play he has to sit out a couple of games after the all star break. It's NBA rules. What he did was actually unselfish. He went out there in spite of the pain so he wouldn't have to sit and force his team to possibly lose games.

http://www.insidehoops.com/bryant-inter...1508.shtml

Q: How did you feel about playing in this game? Are you okay playing in it? I know the Lakers were pretty concerned about it.

Bryant: It just depends on the rules, really. I understand if you play the last game prior to the All Star break, if you don't, you're suspended for the next game. So we'll just do what we can here and follow the rules and get ready for Atlanta.

I guess Bryant care more about the Lakers than Baron Davis.

NBA rules forced him to play, but he has had a reputation for being one of the most selfish stars. I would love to have seen Baron play after he left.

wow please do your research before you bash a player. Kobe and the Lakers front office deliberately tried to avoid the All-Star game but was rejected by the NBA because he either has to miss the game before the All-Star game or a game after. He is playing with the injury just to make sure he doesn't have to miss a regular season game.
