That is true. It was Lo Wright who came in and really gave Howard fits. Regardless we have had success against the Magic without Wright. Dwight isn't a big fan of Zaza either.

Im sure Dwight will own Horford/Zaza/Solomon.

But I like the matchups everywhere else on the floor.

No way can Rashard Lewis defend Josh Smith, Maurice Evans can't defend Joe Johnson, Hedo can't defend Marvin Williams, and now we actually have production from the PG position.

In fact with the edge in all the other matchups we could potentially get Dwight in foul trouble

If not another veteran big, I could see Lo Wright being bought out by the Kings, and eventually returning to Atlanta.

Because for the playoffs, I think the Hawks will probably need a veteran big off the bench, and for depth purposes. Zaza/Horford/Smith (who's not a traditional-sized PF)/Jones is a young PF/C group. As mature, tough, and as good as Horford is for a young big man.

Be a nice option to have, anyway.

Next they need to draft Hibbert

Bibbby
JJ
Smith/Marvin
Horford
Hibbert

Seattle might pick him though.. You know they love drafting Centers!

Hibbert is a top 10 pick and we don't have ANY pick in this draft.

Im so glad Hibbert turned us down by not entering last year's draft so we could land Horford.

And as stated, Josh Smith is not a 3. He's by far better at the 4 on both sides of the ball

good trade for ATL, totally didn't see this coming.

they already have their big man in horford and scorer in johnson - now they have someone that can get them the ball.

there are 3 playoff spots there for the taking in the East - all you have to do is get in and get hot and you could advance. Bibbys got a few more years left and he can help develop Law and West.

here's your experienced playoff vet that every young team needs.
Bibby doesn't fit everywhere - but he does there.

i'd be excited if i was a hawks fan - this is a smart deal.

Good trade for both teams. It's about fair value for Bibby. Sac savs money while getting somebody maybe good in the future. Atlanta gets what they need. They can afford Bibby's salary and hope to re-sign him relatively cheap next year.

Good thing Bibby didn't go to our Western competitors like Denver or Houston or even to stronger Eastern squads like Magic or Cavs. :-) Overall, good move by Atlanta, while for Sacto it's a move out of necessity: it is not so easy to get big expirings in this league, as Memphis already experienced. ;-)

I dont get how Atlanta picked Williams over Paul/D.Williams and followed that up with Williams over Roy/Gay.

How does this ownership still have a job? Maybe I should get that MBA in Sports Business... i mean seriously.

Regardless this is a decent trade for both teams... though I think SAC could have gotten a 2nd rounder as well. I do think its a bit premature to call williams a bust at this point... I think he can be a Dampier-type player for over a decade in the NBA (which is better than Kandi, Kwame, Darko, etc.)

ATL could be the 3rd best team in the conference after this trade... I think Bibby being more of a scoring PG and JJ being more of a passing SG balances eachother out nicely..

Well if the ownership stunk so much then how could you make a statement like this?

As much heat as our GM gets for taking Marvin Williams over Chris Paul, 1)It made sense at the time, 2)It hasn't stopped him from (with a little luck in landing Horford) from building the most promising young roster in the Eastern Conference
