No matter how you explain it to them , there still going to give credit to Shaq for all those titles .

I mean H.Grant is ancient and Kobe and Wade are side kicks .
Even Horry and Fish's last second shot in the playoffs against the Kings and Spurs to get them in the finals was because of Shaq and no one else .

The way I look at it from all these posters that are giving credit to Shaq , its like Shaq played all by himself for the Lakers and Miami and earned all these titles alone .

Right ?

So John Paxson was more important than Jordan, because he made that 3 against the Suns in the 1993 NBA finals or Mario Ellie was more important that Olajuwon because he win game 6 with last second shoot against Phoenix in the 1995 playoffs? Sorry but no, It's nice to have someone like Horry who can make that type of shoot ( like against the Kings ), but no late heroics will cloud the fact that it was Shaq ( with the help of Kobe ) who posted 30 ppg 15 rpg and 2.5 bpg and carried Lakers past Sacramento. And for the last time Grant in the 2000-2001 was 37 years old, so by the sporting standars he was ancient. He wasnt the same Horace who played in Chicago or Orlando, just like Gary Payton in 2006 wasnt the same Glove from Seattle. Also as my final word: I never said that Lakes role players dont deserve any credit for three-peat, they deserve but not on level of Shaq.

Kobe D wrote:I'm so over this argument. Can't people just concede that it was equally Shaq and Kobe that won those titles. Both of them couldn't do it without each other at that time. Even the announcers have dubbed them Batman & Superman. As opposed to "Batman & Robin"

BINGO!

Shaq gets the credit because he's been the one constant, but he can't do it without a star guard or solid role players. That's just a matter of fact. The role players and even the star guard are replaceable. Shaq is not...

This was just waiting to happen. Shaq disses anybody he's ever played with. After he retires or gets traded again, he's going to say "I've never played with such a bad defender before *cough Nash cough*."

I can't see Dwyane Wade cares about this seeing as he has an NBA Finals MVP and all. Kobe is probably on suicide watch right now.

"He has 3 courtesy of Shaquille O'Neal."

Bill Walton on Kobe being the only player on Team USA with a ring last summer.

You may only dream... although these dreams aren't very normal. I strongly advise consultation with your therapist.

He's helped lead his team to a title, that's for sure.

No one person leads their team to a title on their own.

Exactly. Different players with unique skill sets are needed for a team to thrive. Kobe and Shaq wouldn't have been as good without Rick Fox playing nasty perimeter defense, Horry hitting clutch shots, and Medvedenko being a hilarious foreigner.

Anyone who says Shaq has the right to those three titles and Kobe has yet to prove anything is nuts. KOBE closed those games. KOBE was a 1st team defender. KOBE feed the ball to the big man more than anyone. I like to say that, overall, Kobe was the Pippen to Shaq's Jordan WHILE being the Mariano Rivera at a time in games when Shaq usually faded/became more useless (Hack-a-Shaq, etc).

"O'Neal said he hasn't played with a passer as good as Nash since his days with Bryant and, before that in Orlando, Scott Skiles."

Well he did miss one - you know who. :-?

"Every time that I've won a championship I've looked at my guys around me and looked at their work ethic and said 'You know what, I'm going to win it this year,'" O'Neal said. "I feel that way now."

Lol that is sig material... hahahahah
