LOL at every teenager in this thread thinking the man running one of the most popular and important leagues in the world is stupid enough to say "Knicks will be better" if the draft lotteries were indeed rigged.

Ah, yes, I remember those days too, when I used to consider myself the smartest person in the world and everyone else stupid.

I think I have heard David Stern say this a couple of times in the last, 8 seasons or so.

Considering it has fallen from 1st to a distant 3rd, and even way below college sports in the US, in the last 10 years, I wouldn't say most popular and important.

It certainly was important. Maybe it is gaining steam around the world, but it has still to win back general America.
