Steve Kerr = Crackhead

Post#1 » by Islanders82 » Thu Feb 21, 2008 3:44 am

Why would he trade the perfect player that fits into the Phoenix style and has perfect chemistry with your franchise point guard, for a 20+ million dollar has been player for the coming years?

Can someone explain this to me? :nonono:

if marion was in such a perfect situation, he sure didn't seem to mad that he got traded
they got shaq because they need a big body in the post to contend in the west where a lot of the great big men are

its only the perfect situation for both sides if your winning championships. suns were going no where with marion at 4 and amare at 5. im not gonna call marion a cancer, but marion has demanded trades, questiong his role in the offense fueding with amare, etc.

With Marion, they have a darn good team that gets eliminated in the 2nd round or WCF.

With Shaq, they may get eliminated in the first round, but he may also make the difference against a team like the Spurs and put them over the hump.

I agree it'll hurt their record during the season. But it's a risk Kerr made for the playoffs.

What people aren't talking about is that it is entirely possible, albeit a slim possibility that the Suns don't even make the playoffs. Their schedule in the next 29 games is BRUTAL. 20 games against good teams out of their next 29.

If Shaq doesn't mesh well, they could very easily fall out of the playoffs.

Honestly, I think Dallas' move for Kidd has a better chance of knocking them out of the playoff than the Suns for Shaq.

I think they have good pieces to fill in for Marion, and might even have made it if Shaq didn't play another regular season game.

Dallas, on the other hand, needs Kidd to play well. And with his poor shooting and defense this season (though he's been dogging it in NJ, obviously) I'm not certain he will.

I can definitely see Shaq in Phoenix working l;ate this season, and definitely next season.

He's looking allright today, making the Lakers scramble on the perimeter.

Phoenix doesnt need all 5 guys on the floor running up and down the court on fast breaks to earn the 2 points. Shaq can take his time.

WHen he was rushing and playing out of rhythm in rthe first half, he wasnt successful. In the 2nd half, he changed, and it worked for them.

All in all, Shaq will be a success in Phoenix IMO.

Shaq's presence really opens things up for the power forward. Whether it's Horace Grant, Karl Malone, Udonis Haslem, or Amare Stoudamire, everyone looks just that much better next to Shaq. Amare has 33 points and 15 rebounds in 36 minutes tonight.

I think suns did get better with shaq at this moment... he was grabbing a lot of the boards they normally don't get and if nash and shaq get a groove going (unless kobe is tailing shaq for a behind the back block) that is another sick combo on top of nash to amare. But not many teams have a defender like kobe who can block shaq, so right now they look better than dallas does with kidd..
