suns & mavs open window now and for future

Post#1 » by thaAteam » Thu Feb 21, 2008 4:01 am

Alot of people are saying the suns and mavs are playing for right now but thats not just the case, once kidd and shaq stle in the will contend now but aot of peole are forgetting the besttrade chip in the nba is expiring contracts and both shaq and kidd come off the books soon, kidd nex year and shaq the year after so a 20 million expiring is as good as it gets, especially when the likes of lebron, d wade and c bosh will all be available after the 09-10 season so teams wil be giving up stars to get under the cap, i think thes trades opn up both windows atleast 3 to 5 years

you forgot the part where teams like raptors/cavs/heat, they dont have bird rights over bosh/lebron/wade...so those expiring contracts dont mean **** if:

ur not under salary cap with those expirings,
the other team doesnt need to pick up your expirings, those stars can just sign with the biggest bidder

and the point is to be in the biggest bidder conversation you have to have cap space, no way lebron or d wade will go back to their bum teams when a contender can get under the cap to acquire them
