mavs needs real pg.....harris is a scorer not a real pg (cant pass)

after the trade

parker scored 10 pts(5-13 shooting) againts old kidd

parker scored 25 pts(10-18 shooting) plus 8 rebounds and 7 assist againts DEVIN HARRIS..DEVIN HARIS..DEVIN HARRIS

in playoff time, kidd is much better

pls give kidd some respect, the guy is already 35 years old but hes the best 35 years old ive seen playing basketball (awarded as USA TEAM BEST PLAYER)

in 2 nba senior citizen lolz....kidd>shaq
btw marion>harris (not even close)

kidd and LEBRON = championship (if cavs aquired him)

mavs isnt legit.....dirk and kidd alone cant win championship (they need help)

josh howard realy s@cks....(not a team player, i prefer richard jefferson over him)
jason terry is inconsistent

trade josh howard for shawn marrion and lets talk championship

this trio can kick ass.... DIRK, KIDD, MARION plus tery and dampier

BUT THIS YEAR MAVS ISNT LEGIT

Mavs at best are 3rd in the west behind Spurs and Lakers.. They still havent fixed their main problem which was the reason they lost the championship is 2006, which is: defending shooting guards...

Everyone knows it was Dwyane Wade that won the 06 championship, not the Miami Heat... the man averaged something like 36ppg in the series...

The following season, Kobe dropped 62 points on them in 3 quarters.. Kobe always has his way with the Mavs... Had 40 earlier this season, and 52 yesterday.. both came on efficient shooting

Last years playoffs the Mavs were upset by the GSW.. a team comprised of, basically, a bunch of SGs (Stephen Jackson, Monta Ellis, Jason Richardson, Pietrus, Matt Barnes) most of these guys play multiple positions for GSW, but on most teams they would all be Shooting Guards...

Dallas could not stop them.... No way they will be able to be Ginobili and the Spurs, or Kobe and the Lakers in a 7 game series

If by "legit" you mean they probably won't get upset by an 8 seed, then yeah I guess maybe.

I'm not saying they can't come outa the West because there are legitimately about 6 or 7 teams who could, but they definitely aren't the favorites in my mind. I'd put SAS, Phx, LAL, Uta & NO all ahead of them. And prior to Yao going down I might have even put them ahead of Dal as well.

Getting Kidd was nice, but it didn't address what I think has been their biggest problem; no real interior presence. In fact they actually downgraded in that regard by trading away Diop. Getting Kidd was a desperation move and probably came a year or two to late.

I wouldn't put Phx or NO ahead of Dallas. It is up in the air whether Phx even makes the playoff's with their upcoming schedule. 2-4 since the Shaq trade looks worse than the 4-3 record the Mavs have since acquiring Kidd. Dallas vs NO is a tossup, depends on who gets homecourt advantage. Utah I'm not sure either, another tossup but I think LA (especially when they get healthy) and the Spurs are better.

SA, LA tier 1

Dallas, NO, Utah tier 2

GS, Phx, Den, Hou tier 3
I'm so tired of the typical......

I think this Mavs team would have beaten GSW last year.

Kidd's influence is really going to help them out.

However... I still don't think they're getting past LA or SA. I'm also thinking it might be time for a coaching change... Avery Johnson made some boneheaded moves down the stretch of the LA game, and to not play Kidd in that last stretch against the Spurs was moronic, to say the least.

I'm also wondering where Josh Howard has been lately.. 2-11 against NO, 6-14 against SA, 4-15 against LA.

I thought he'd be the main benefactor of the Kidd trade... his game is a lot like a young Richard Jefferson's, and we all saw how much RJ benefited from playing with Kidd all those years.

Dallas will be a much better team after a training camp with Kidd.

Mavs are most def dangerous with kidd. Baron can't stop Kidd from getting into the paint.

^^ Baron's a very good penetration defender. If he can't stop Kidd, Jax can. Besides, how's Kidd gonna stop Baron and Monta at once? Last game they played, Kidd looked awful against them.

I don't know if the Mavs can call themselves top tier to win the title if they don't win tonight.
