"People"? You mean person.
The other guys who spoke the language said it was accurate. (See second page) Its only the one guy who keeps changing his explanation trying to defend darko.

Just to clear a couple of things up:

Yes, the translation is accurate. In fact, that is its problem -- it is pretty much a literal translation of what he was saying. That is not how you translate things. You've all heard of the phrase "lost in translation."

95% of the rant (excluding the daughter stuff, that one I don't get either) is stuff that people that speak the language would normally say in a situation such as that one. That is, if they happened to be provoked to the point where they felt the need to blow a lot of steam off.

Darko's problem was doing it in front of cameras and not 20 feet down that hall in the locker room.

FIBA did do something about it. They fined him maximum amount they can - 10,000 Euros.

And yes, I do speak the language, and yes, I have personally yelled out stuff like that at one point or another.

The translation may be accurate but the fact that its in another language is probably a good reason why there isn't such a major public backlash against him.

just to clarify.

jebem ti mater is equivalent to "f**k you" in english. When directly translated it means much worse in english. He didn't imply rape by any means.

now, I will tell you something and you try and translate it through babelfish or whatever you use, and tell me if it makes any sense (i wont be cursing at you)

Jebem ti srce isusovo.

translate that.
