Wow this is some extremely biased stuff here when Dallas and Phx went on their win streak last year no one was saying anything... and then they werent completely demolishing teams the way the Rockets are now.... yes I'm a rockets fan but even I will tell you almost 95% of Rockets Nation (go ahead and make a red sox joke) were ready to tank the season and try to get a high draft pick but what people are failing to see is we actually have a talented team.

#1 The offense is clicking very well and in our 17 game streak the team has averaged over 26 assists per game... holding teams to under 47% shooting from the field and last night we only had 6 or 7 turnovers

#2 I dont know if other fans have picked up on it... but the defense is actually better than it was last year under JVG under a supposed "Offensive" coach Rick Adelman (esp. after starting the season the way we did high on everybody's contenders)

#3 Teams cannot predict the offense and how they're going to run plays because there really is no set offense, this is the main factor in our team being sucessful teams keep up with us for the first half and then the 3rd quarter and then its like the team kicks it into another gear

oh yeah btw Its a Team effort last night the Rox gained their biggest lead of the game up until that point (in the 3rd) when T-mac was on the bench the team has confidence in itself and believe it or not it starts mainly with Tracy and our 2 rookie PF's Luis (Coca) Scola and Carl (Manly) Landry

Yao is gone, problems are gone.

On the end, no disrespect to Houston, but surely the schedule was in their favor.

woooo Dallas is without Nowitzki, did you forgot Houston is without Yao??
Yao is Rockets leader in pts, reb, blk, and ft%

IF the Rockets get past the hornets tomorrow, and win those three games against subpar teams, 21 games would be historic and quite spectacular

winning 2 in a row or 3 in a row isn't that hard. Winning 17 is difficult no matter what..

Ok, well other teams have a schedule like this sometime in the season. Why aren't they on a 17 game win streak? Explain that to me please.

to the o.p. -

for others who have achieved 30, 20 or 17 games in a row, you think they're banging the elite teams 30, 20 or 17 games in a row?

if the rockets' 17 game w streak does not impress you enough, that's fine with me. but "nothing special"? then how come no one else has done it this season? how come this doesn't happen every year?

or you're just messing around?
hopefully time will tell morey is a genius gm - mmc3, 7/13/07

This season in the WC, you cannot choose when to get hot or you may not squeeze in playoff.

However sucky Heat is, beating them 17 times in a row is still not a given.

Wow, this thread is up there with the "I can shoot 70% from the arc alone in the gym, so I can make it to the league" thread by MarkoDilicic.

This thread needs to get locked, clearly this poster doesn't know what he is talking about, and is jealous. Why don't you make one over the Spurs? they haven't played anyone special, and if we truly suck, we shouldn't be on a 17 game winning streak period.

This is ridiculous! We break our own franchise record that was set by a team that had arguably the greatest center in NBA History and we still get no love. Yes San Antonio is on a nice win streak too but they are SUPPOSE to do that. They have been the best team in the league for the past decade for crying out loud! SA has beat 3 decent teams and thats IF you count the game against Cleveland. Well if you break down ours we beat 6. When in reality you have to say 8 games were won against quality teams because we did beat the Eastern Conference Finals Champs twice during this span.

When are people going to realize that we are for real whether we have Yao or not? The rest of the Rockets BELIEVE they are still a threat. Our offense finally clicked, the chemistry is GREAT, McGrady finally grew a pair (sorry T-Mac your my favorite player but ITS TIME) Plus Scola, Landry, Battier, Alston, Mutombo and Hayes are all BRINGING IT EVERY NIGHT!! We have the most TENACIOUS defense in the league which shouldnt be a surprise to anybody!!

17 wins isnt impressive??? Pffttt!!! Get outta here with that crap. We've gone from possibly not even making the playoffs to 2.5 games out of 1st place in the one of the deepest conferences of ALL-TIME !!! How come none of the "Elite" teams have had a streak like this all year? Not SA, Boston, Detroit, Dallas, Pheonix, not even the Lakers or Hornets! Hell Boston cant even do that in the Eastern Conference! All I know is that we will not be taken lightly this year! This is the BEST team McGrady has EVER had around him even WITHOUT Yao Ming! Wrong or right?!?!? We are FAR from done even with the loss of the Great Wall of Houston!

WATCH OUT!!!

Yep 17 wins in a row at the professional level isn't impressive at all and what is even less impressive is going 26 and 4 in your last 30 games.

Any time somebody wins 17 games in a row, its special; no matter who the opponent is.

I was thinking the same. Using his logic, if Houston gets by NO this Saturday, their streak should extend to 21. The three teams after NO have losing records before running into LA. The same person would probably generate another post saying the 21 win streak isn't significant.

Actually, I don't think they'll be the underdogs. David West is out with an ankle sprain, and the Hornets are on a back-to-back.

March 19th, not tomorrow.
