Any coach, player, or whatever, without a doubt would rather see the ball in anyones hands rather than Kobe having it. I think outside of the Seattle game that was his only attempt in closing seconds this year, am I correct? I also can't remember him having many attempts last year IF ANY, Phil usually can't draw up a play for him to get free and get the ball from what I've seen.
I think Phil has something to do with it but it's mostly the inbounder not passing to Kobe at the right angle.

not quite
Okur - clutch eFG% .690 and 23.7 points per 48 minutes
LeBron - clutch eFG% .558 on 61.5 points per 48 minutes
Kobe - clutch eFG% .535 on 57.4 points per 48 minutes
Turkoglu - clutch eFG% of .500 on 38.9 points per 48 minutes
Turkoglu is the worst of the 4 and he's the one you pick?
So, you decide who you pick based on statistics that have nothing to do with players actually being clutch or not?* Memo and Hedo have been more than clutch and called "Mr.4th quarter" by fans of Utah and the Magic (Hedo this year, Memo last year) for a reason.
Heck, I'd pick Billups over Kobe and LeBron o shoot it in the final seconds. Or do you think Detroit fans have been calling him Mr. Big Shot for some years now just because he's a funny looking guy?
But I guess eFG% is what matters. It's like PER. Gortat leads the PER statistic for the Magic. I guess he really is the MVP of that team.
* Edit: to make myself more clear: last year D.Howard had one winning shot attempt. He made it. Is "clutch eFG%" was over the roof. Is he a clutch player? Nope, not even close.

To clarify, the stats I posted were 82games eFG% in clutch situations stats. Those are not full game stats, but are restricted to the ends of close games (last 5 minutes, neither team up by more than 5 points). Do you have something better that should be considered?
