Best believe if Stern had his way, kids would be going for the full 4 years and needing to get a degree before they make it to the NBA

Chuck Everett wrote:I disagree with this unless they change the rookie wage scale. If they are not going to do that, then this is being done to help owners make even more money and I don't agree with it. If you do this and change the rookie wage scale to give players the option of being R-FA's after two years, then I don't mind it. However, now you age the talent a year, but get to keep them for four years at a discount rate, even if they come in like gangbusters.

Why should we care how long it takes them to get their big contract? That is a good thing for the fans.

Age limits are pointless and frankly most of these kids have no business on a college campus anyway.

I'm all for it... Like somebody already said the NBA is supposed to be the best league in the world, you want finished products, not projects who just bring down the level of play... And maybe more guys will have more of a team mentality if they spend at least 2 years in college..

The only thing I don't like is the NCAA gets to benefit from this... they already exploit these kids for millions of dollars, while a lot of them are broke and have to wait until they get drafted to cash in... I wish there was a way they could benefit financially from playing in college, most of them don't want or receive a college education anyway...

And for the guy who said it would be a problem with the rookie scale contract, it could go both ways... You could have guys coming in earning rookie contracts while they're doing absolutely nothing, just waiting to 'develop' and not contributing to the team...
