How is he the worst? The roster isn't as good as other teams. Joey graham is a d leaguer at best. Winning as many games as he has, is an accomplishment.

Only one mention of Isiah Thomas, are you all kidding? I understand no one watches Knicks games, because they suck, but when you do watch us, notice our one offensive play. It is called the isolation, and we aren't the Mavericks who somehow manage to run the isolation every time down the court and do it effectively.

Plays going by year
first couple of years isolation to Marbury
last year - drop it down low to Curry, clear out the paint, put our bad shooters at the 3 point line.
this year - isolation to Zach Randolph from the 3 point line, isolation for Zach Randolph on the base line, isolation for Jamal Crawford from half court, isolation to Nate Robinson from midgetville.

guarded Dirk with Eddy Curry

HE PUT EDDY CURRY ON DIRK

He doesn't start David lee

He plays Malik Rose
He doesn't run the pick and roll with Randolph and any guard
He doesn't play uptempo which would help negate our lack of interior presence.
Refuses to play kids even though we suck and has only started to do so the last 4 games.
Couldn't out tank Pat Riley last game

Isiah Thomas actually is a worse coach than GM, if you can believe that.

Our offense is almost as flawed, crappy, and stupid as USC's offense under Floyd.

-I don't remember the last time we scored after a timeout.

-He plays Joey Graham in the 4th Quarter.

-Joey Graham even played C at one point.

-We even double team superstars like Smush Parker.

So is there a coach worse than Sam Mitchell?

He can't possibly be as worse as Jimbo the Clown Boylan.

4 pages and Zeke has only been mentioned twice (both on page 4)?!?!

I'm sorry Knicks fans, but I guess no one really does watch NY anymore.

Are you blaming Sam Mitchell because not one Raptor play can defend the likes of Smush?

The Raps inability to play defence is the culprit. They all have chicken legs.

Alternate title for this thread: Fans bases that over evaluate their teams talent.

These same criticism were leveled at Byron Scott and Doc Rivers in the past. It's funny how much of a better coach one can become when you mix in a little talent.

Toronto for one finds themselves in the position they are now because they're just not very good. I think most non Raptor fans knew they overachieved last year.

im not saying we should have won all the games we played.

i understand that we are not a very good team.

but from the lineups and subs he uses, lack of plays etc. make him a very poor coach IMO.

and that can be determined regardless of a team's talent.

Fact: Smitch comes up with a clutch play out a time-out about once every 500 tries.

I never understood how Colangello won Exec. of the Year and the Mitchell won Coach of the Year, it just doesnt make sense to give those awards to two people in the same organization.

Got an analogy. I got a new job where I went from doing my job to teaching my job. Difference is night and day.

When you become a teacher you have students that challenge your ideas, your methods, your basic fundamentals. They do it because of personality conflict, to make you look bad, or because they're bored.

I think being a coach is like being a teacher. Your best efforts are under appreciated. I think it's easy to judge what a coach should do but honestly coaching is the hardest job in the nba. A player can work on his game, his free throw shooting, his dribbling, his stamina/strength and improve his overall ability.

In coaching a lot of things are out of your control ie injuries, players attitudes, the schedule. People put Phil Jackson, Gregg Poppovich, Pat Riley at the top because they won titles. I say they are only at the top because they had the best players. I wouldn't want to be an NBA coach and have to juggle all the issues they go through.......
I'm so tired of the typical......

STFU what the hell do you know about raptors? You're arguing with Raptor fans who watches everyone of their **** games.

If playing Joey Graham and Humphries for half the 4th quarter against the Lakers isn't a horrible coach, I don't know what is.

The year before he won coach of the year, he was voted the worst coach in the league. So its normal for Smitch.

Its obvious that Mitchell did not win coach of the year with tactical superiority or advanced coaching techniques.

Jason Kapono aka "the best three point shooter of all time" has attempted only 9 3pt shots in his last 20 games. Mitchell is terrible.

Sloan was robbed. Last year's CoY was a travesty.
