lakers because its true, i only hate them because of their fans. this isnt just on realgm ofcousre, living in LA, i experience them in person.
but they arent all bad. you will likely find some of the most knowledgable fans, as thats probably true for all teams.

Never have a wished more bad luck on a franchise simply because of their fans as I do for the Rockets. Too bad because I don't really dislike any of the players especially now that Jon Barry is gone.
Did anyone listen to that little worm, Jeff Van Gundy during the Rocket/Laker game yesterday? I almost lost my lunch when he said that the Lakers whined about the calls too much. During that game the Rocket players complained about almost every call. Jeff Van Gundy is a unbelievable homer.
I don't want to wage a Rockets vs Mavs fans war, but for a franchise with such little history some Dallas fans sure do talk. And judging by your reasons for disliking the Rockets, you've either been into the NBA for a very short time, or your post just proves how irrelevant the Mavericks have been to the NBA over time.

I hope you do, but I wouldn't take a bet on it. Talking smack about championships from 13 years ago that had all of zero players on the current Rockets squad just doesn't make sense...mmkay.
Well, I don't know about this one. I mean, with all due respect, I hate the Utah Jazz. However, that has nothing to do with anyone on your CURRENT team. We had a great rivalry back in the day, and for that reason I still hate the Utah Jazz. Don't get me wrong, I RESPECT Utah, but as a Jazz fan I think you understand where I'm coming from on the issue.
And hey, if I was a Bulls fan I'd still be bumping my gums about the Jordan days...regardless of the current squad. It's about pride in your franchise. Sometimes it requires a blast to the past because the present doesn't always compare.

I do get where you're coming from. Hey, I hate the Rockets as well dating back to those rivalries, although even I must admit that their current win streak is one of the more impressive things I"ve seen in ages.
But I do think eventually that you can't reflect on past achievements of your team. Eventually they become irrelevant. I used the Sonics as an example before because they are a perfect one. They are a god awful team curenntly but have won a championship. Would you take a Sonics fan yapping their gums to a Suns fan very seriously since they won a championship and the Suns didn't? Even thought the Sonics' championship was about 30 years ago?

Your Sonics example is a good one, and I admit that their argument would have 0 validity. However, I think things are subject to change considering the situation.
For instance, look at Houston and Utah. Our teams are currently neck to neck in the standings. Both teams have storied pasts, and both teams are currently jockeying for a top seed in the WC. Jazz fans often talk about bouncing us out of the playoffs last year, so would it not be fair to retaliate by boasting about the championship days? Sure it doesn't mean we're currently better than you just because we won championships 14 years ago, but a least both you and I were alive (and watching) during those years so I think it's more relevant than a Sonics fan yapping about the 70s. You remember Hakeem, Vernon Maxwell, Clyde Drexler, etc just like I remember Stockton, Malone, Hornacek, and company so I think that makes it a little different.
You are right though in saying that you eventually can't keep reflecting on your franchise's past. However, on a personal note (in this case me and you discussing this right now), I think it's relevant because you witnessed the championship runs. If we were in the year 2020 and I was bragging to a 20 year old Jazz fan about the glory days then he wouldn't care because he doesn't remember them...he wasn't alive. I think that's the difference.

Celtics. Whats not to like: 3 all stars, deep bench, cool green and black unis. But oh yeah, their fans are total c.unts. I'd sooner root for Bin Laden than any Boston team.

I remember Brent Price, everytime he missed a shot we would say the price is wrong bitch, haha, good times, although now you can do that with Ronnie Price to us so hmm.
as for the fans I teams I hate but respect or fans or something like that.
I dont like the lakers or their fans or their coach but respect Kobe when he's not bitching about the refs. Really any team that plays the jazz I do tend to hate but always respect 1 or 2 players on the team.
