While we're talking announcers, on a cavs broadcast, Austin Carr once made this brilliant observation - "The cavs are going to have to take a lead at some point if they want to give themselves a chance to win this game."

I love Carr for all the wrong reasons.

One of the Cleveland/Toronto games earlier this season featured a number of memorable exclamations from Carr, including his surprise that Bosh was getting better at using his left hand, but that he had never seen him finish with it, as well. Which is quite interesting, as Bosh is left-handed.

Possibly in the same game, he stated that Bosh was out of his range shooting 16 footers, then knowingly spoke about his great outside range less than five minutes later.

Elliot's voice bothers me so much. The way he whines and cries reminds me of my 3 year old niece. I cant stand Stu Lantz either. They both sound like little girls/leprechauns.

Heinsohn can be every bit as annoying, but after you warm up to his routine, he's actually really funny.

Do a paper bag revolt. But this time, unlike our idea, that worked out great btw, go to a game where he is reporting, get a paper bag, sneak down behind him and put it over his head and run away. That should stop him from reporting for at least 5 minutes.

Correct. A lot of people hate Tommy because he's one of the biggest homer's out there, but Mike Gorman seems to get dragged into that conversation with him. I feel bad for Gorman because he's truly one of the better play by play guys out there, but because of Tommy, Gorman isn't taken seriously.

Tonight, Elliot literally ruined a great game between the Spurs and C's with his color commentary that is more than homeristic. He says things that are flat out ignorant, stupid, and inaccurate. And yet never contributes anything regarding strategy or philosophy to the broadcast.

We pay $200 a year for LP, so if 1000 of us sign, thats $200,000 worth of us paying customers! Who's in?

Tommy Heinsohn will sign for sure.

You know what is sad... the best play by play people is the Sonics crew in my opinion and no one gets to hear them often. I hope they remain together if they indeed move..

One more confirmation on this point. There are many times where Tommy's silent for multiple minutes (maybe he falls asleep?) and Gorman's play by play really enhances the action. I'd probably only take Breen and Gus Johnson over him to call a game.

What's the play by play announcer's name again? I remember he did the commentary for the NBA Inside Drive games, he's great.

I can't stand Miami's play by play guy. That nasal voice and his undying love for Wade make a bad combo.

Yes that is the one. I was trying to remember what he said about Dwight Howard a couple of years ago. I had that as my sig for awhile.

Elliot is the worse. Tommy H will make me laugh. Elliot will make you throw stuff. He is arrogant. He thinks he still on the team. He has almost no clue about other teams in the league. Especially East coast teams. Especially young players.

NOw before there was Elliot. Some fans will remember the days of Lenny Wilkens. Lenny Wilkens was worse than Sean Elliot. Elliot would hype up all the Spurs to make Rasho look better than Dwight Howard. Wilkins would make players sound horrible and hype up all the Sonics. Probably most famous was him making Darko sound like he had zero skills That everytime Darko came into the game it was time to make a run.

hehe nice.

seattle's play by play guy is kevin calabro. he has good chemistry with marques johnson. for some reason, snapper jones is being used at times and he is unbelievably bad which is odd because he was great on NBC.

expect to hear more calabro on national telecasts if the sonics move because he's not going with them
