The Suns offense is better because of Shaq

Post#1 » by BRINGTHEPAIN » Wed Mar 19, 2008 4:38 am

I haven't seen the figures but I think they the Suns are shooting at a higher FG% since Shaq arrived. Even when they started 4-6 they were shooting at very high%. And now they are just a machine. And the defense has improved slightly, and clearly rebounding is up

i agree but we all know the haterz out there will disapprove of this message
Dwight Howard on his FT struggles:

"I just think everybody needs to stop talking about it," Howard said. "There's more to life than free throws."

The Suns can now play both offensive games: half court and run 'n gun. Question like always, can they play enough defense?

with the latest Bynum news, Phx has become my favorite for the West. Unless Bynum doesn't play at all, then i still have the Lakers. I think the Lakers will be worse trying to adjust for Bynum in the playoffs than they would be just leaving him off the roster.

They probably can play enough defense, but the good thing is even if they don't play defense they can still win games.

I wasn't referring to the minutes Shaq was on/off the court, I'm talking about the general game production of Phoenix since Shaq arrived.

They were always able to play both. You don't dominate the league in offensive efficiency based without being able to play half court. The "question" for me has always been whether Shaq would help them with their glaring weakness: rebounding. Considering they were the worst rebounding team in the league, and they gave up in Marion someone considered to be a great rebounding, that's no given. So how have they done with Shaq? About 5% better. Damn impressive. When Shaq's in the game, they go from worst rebounding team in the league to middle of the pack.

Now, the Suns still need to get the rest of their game flowing on all cylinders, which is no given, but this is encouraging.
