how is riley the best coach in history if he is going out there tanking? It's talk like this from fans like you and last year celtic fans that gives nba such a bad name. I mean you guys are openly accepting your team going out there and losing on purpose. Would he be going out there to scout talent if they were going to the playoffs? Why does he only quit when things aren't going well. Your guys are gloating about tanking wow and than telling everyone you guys don't get it.

If you reasonably think we WANT our team to lose, then you need to go elsewhere. -- No fan of any team/sport wants their team to reasonably lose and throw a season down the toilet.

Riley has responsibilities beyond simply coaching the team; he's the general manager as well. It's in the best interest of Heat franchise for Riley to be prioritizing his GM job right now. This upcoming draft, can/will dictate the future of the franchise. As a Heat fan, he's doing what's best to improve this team as quickly as possible. It's not as if he's taking the days off and going on safaris to Africa.

But, then again; why bother? This has been beaten to death and people will make their own assumptions, as you've seemingly done here.

Atleast the Celtics put out some decent talent like Al Jefferson out there.

I haven't seen a team this terrible in a REAL long time. Miami first of all should have never been in this situation. They had enough talent to contend in the East. This was a blatant tank job.

Dude, our DECENT talent in one Dorell Wright had season ending surgery close to a month ago. Daequan Cook is a up and coming rookie. Besides that, who in the hell else do we have as deecnt talent?

What in the world do you them to field out there if they have no one?

Heat fans are getting to sensitive.

The way the Heat are tanking, from the players to the coach, is pretty sad. Theres really not much debate to this. Its pathetic to see.

One more thing, why would adding a top pick this year would make the Heat a contender? With all the great teams there are in the league it would take a lot more work to make the Heat elite again.

With posts as such, and with people as such who don't understand the situation of the team, except what they 'want' to make out of it.

The draft pick isn't going to make the Heat contenders and drastically turn this team around.

But, at least with a draft pick thats another young prospect the Heat can build upon for the future. Without a lottery pick the Heat would have little chance of improving in the future.

Its not that Heat fans want the team to lose. Its the realization that the team is horrendous, and the only positive contribution the players on the squad are going to make is a lottery pick.

Theres the argument that losing will become contagious, but I'm not concerned with that. Its due mostly to the lack of talent that the Heat have fallen.

The Spurs turned it around after they drafted Duncan and the Celtics have climbed their way back to being an elite team.

I don't expect anything from this team and have come to accept that. What could I realistically expect from a roster composed of NBDL players.
