Won't be any "upsets" in the Western Playoffs this year, because there is no clear favourite. Any team can beat any team, on any given night. I can't wait till May.

This year's WC may be the most competitive conference in league history, but it isn't the best conference in league history.

Is the glass half empty or half full?

The argument can be made that if there are 6 contenders then there are no great teams. If so many teams win 50 games then there are too many winning less than 20.

In 1989 a team with 5 HoFers, 7 former allstars a HoF coach and a GOAT candiate won 42 games and was the 8th seed.

Not true. There are 6 great teams that can all win it all. They're all elite teams with some more elite than others but when the playoffs start, anything can happen.

my point is there is no all-time great team.. theres a bunch of good teams, theres no standout 90s bulls 80s lakers early 70s knicks 60s celtics(and 80s).. so how can it be the greatest conference?

So because there's no one team dominating everyone else, this actually hurts their chances of being a historically great conference?

...what?

elite compared to what?? each other??

How many WC teams can win a 7 game series vs

91 Pistons/Trailblazers
92 Cavs/Jazz
93 Knicks/Sonics
or
82 Celtics/Spurs
83 Bucks/Spurs
84 Bucks/Suns

Could any team in the WC win 1 game vs the 1988 Celtics or Mavs??

Mavs Harper, Blackman, Aguirre, Schrempf, Donaldson, Tarpley
Celtics DJ, Ainge, Bird, McHale, Parrish,

9 allstars on 2 starting 5s and both lost in the ECF/WCF

If any team can win then every team can lose. Would the Rockets win 20 straight games if they played Magic, Bird, MJ, Isiah, Charles, Stockton&Malone and there teammates?

One of the dumbest posts I've ever seen. My god. Appreciate what we have now. There has never been so many good teams in one conference before.

Saying that these teams don't stand a chance is just plain stupid.

i think its hilarious when people are like "the Lakers are the 1st place team in the West....or the Spurs are the best team in the West.." because everyone's separated by 2 games it could change in a week. you could go from 1st to lottery in a week!

For the people who don't think this is the greatest conference. Go ahead and state which one's are better. Just to compare.......
I'm so tired of the typical......

It's the most balanced conference, you can't compare different eras using numbers or standings.
