If that truly is the case, then he deserved to be on the bench. And i hope his team and fan's give him major hell for it.

That doesn't sound like a plausible reason really. If a player has a disgression off the court, they usually get benched early on, usually the 1st quarter or 1st half. Baron got benched b/c Nellie knows we were basically out of the playoff race, and Baron was playing like it and jacking up shots.

Not when the season is on the line. You put him in, give him the benefit of the doubt, assume he is a grown man and stayed within his limit the night before, and see what happens. If he absolutely sucks (which he did), you know why and you bench him because you know hes not going to pull through in the second half.

Right... So he got benched for his play and not b/c he was drinking the night before.

He got benched because he was playing like ****, and he was playing like **** in all likelihood because he was partying the night before.

That partying story is pure speculation. Baron Davis' "birthday" party was over a week ago. He's too much of a competitor to just willingly throw away a season of hard work by partying the night before a game like this.

He got benched because he played crappy and Don Nelson wanted to "send him a message".

Although Don Nelson is (Please Use More Appropriate Word) for riding Baron Davis hard for 81 games, breaking him down physically and mentally for 40+ minutes per night, and then waiting for the moment when the Warriors season is on the line to send a message to Baron. Ugh.

Seriously guys, I think he just benched him because he was having a bad game. I really don't see what's wrong with that or why it has to be some deep seeded issue. Baron was playing poorly and he got benched. Welcome to the NBA.

.....Im sure stephen Jackson's rap sheet is way longer than all the nuggets combined.

The only player with a longer rap sheet than JR and AI is Kobe probably. I don't even want to talk about what those two have gotten into. Look at how AI quit on the Sixers. Look at all the legal trouble AI, JR, Melo, Camby, and KMart have gotten into.

Was it just last year people were going off about Baron being a superstar like Duncan or something, with people predicting MVPs this year? He is what he is and I wouldn't want to have to build around him.

^^^ Didn't he also drop those playoff triple doubles and have clutch games to lead mediocre teams to the playoffs and beyond? He was an MVP candidate earlier this year. He does one small thing wrong, and suddenly everyone hates him for it. What exactly did he do again? I'm pretty sure he didn't pull an AI on his team.

But not in game of that magnitude where you still had a chance to make the playoffs. You never know what could have happened with the Memphis-Denver game, stranger things have happened.

He was benched in the whole second half, I'm fine with sending a message, but when the Warriors 4th quarter lead started to wind down, I'd think you put your star player in the game that's one of the best closers in the league to finish it off in game of that magnitude. That was just a ridiculously stupid move on Nelly's part (though if the recent stories of the partying is true, it's somewhat understandable then).
