Not that I really care, but that can't be right.
No, it's pretty much dead-on. As I said on the Celtics forum:
wigglestrue wrote:Since NBA knowledge is carefully defined there as "Facility with Current Player Information & Statistics" as opposed to general basketball knowledge, I don't have much of a problem with that chart. It's maybe a little overstated, because Tommy does in fact know a lot about the top veterans in the league. He's just useless when it comes to stats, foreign names, and mid-tier/lower-tier players, But anyway, I'd rather have a commentator who can use his deep basketball instincts to immediately size up a player's tendencies, strengths, and weaknesses within 5 minutes of watching him than a commentator who relies heavily on the stats and biographical notes we can access ourselves on the net.
edit: every Celts fan also wishes he'd bitch about the refs about 90% less.

I think it's somewhat flawed to used both standards, at least for the extremes.
Because extreme homerism can get in the way of whatever knowledge you have. It doesn't matter if you understand something if your take on it is predetermined, it will read/sound/look exactly like a lack of understanding.

He is also the guy that laughed at Dwight Howard being a top 5 MVP candidate.
Jackson has become extremely overrated these days
I don't know if he laughed about Dwight being a top 5 MVP candidate or not, but every time the Magic play the Nets, he has nothing but praise for Howard. All announcers have their moments, but Jackson's a pretty darn good one.
Also, Matt Goukas is not THAT big a homer to where he should be that far down on the list? Him and Steele are two of the better ones in the league. They'll make homer statements every now and then, but there are far worse.
