Doug Collins also had a problem with it..

I don't see a problem with it..if your allowed using your strengths, why can't your weaknesses be exploited? free throw shooting is part of a players skill set, they should be punished for not being able to make them IMO..

if a player can't make jumpers and you let them shoot an open jumper, isn't that the same thing? so should we eliminate that too?..

anyone else have a problem with it?..

the main reason some people have a problem with it, is because THE SPURS used it IMO..if it was another team using it right now, it wouldn't be a big deal..
there are manly ethical issues in the hack-a-Shaq.

it is looked down upon as the p***y way to win a game, however, against the Suns, it is acceptable because it is a pshycological weapon against D'antony because he is the ultimate "use the p***y way to win" master.

Best way to stop it? Make your free throws. Shaq is notorious for making his free throws when they are important. He did it with the Lakers all the time. Pop never did such a thing back then IIRC.

The funny thing is last night, Shaq only missed one free throw and Pop himself said he probably wasn't gonna do it for the 4th Q.

Make the free throws and the opposing team will stop hacking.

not really. he does shoot a higher % in the "clutch" but it's barely higher.

It makes the game considerably more dull to watch at times, but fundamentally, I don't have a problem with it.
