Ref's need to realize sometimes no calls are the best calls and stop rewarding people throwing themselves on the floor at the hint of any contact.

Refs are human and players flop with the intent to deceive them. Officials don't have the benefit of panoramic camera angles and slo mo replays; their judgements have to be split-second.

Telling a ref not to fall for a flop is like telling a defender not to fall for Kobe's pump fakes. It's inevitable if they sell it well enough. The only way to stop flopping is to punish them. Otherwise, they'll keep doing it and take their chances.

Its just a part of the game. If you can think quick and realize that the player running out at you will almost certainly jump into you if you through the fake and you know you shoot 85% from the line... You do it.

The refs are a part of the game. A Third team almost. This is just the reality of it, and all the instant replays you want will not change it.

I like the coaches and players who can work the refs. I remember the old Rodman trick, push Zo (or who ever) when the refs not looking and get him mad so he pushes back and then fall.

It's easy to stop the flopping. Get 2 thughs from the NBDL to show to Manu, Wade, Nash, etc. what is a real foul. Send some of those floppers in hospital with broken ribs, necks and legs and see will anyone flop again.

How about teach players to control their bodies when charging into the lane?

I'd rather see people TRY to man up and play defense instead of taking the easy way out and just sliding in front of a driving player and having the ref bail you out. It's kind of like the hack-a-"whoever". It's a bullspit way of getting around the rules because you're not good enough to guard a player.

Drawing charges is what results in most flopping. I think drawing charges should be removed from the NBA. Either the defender fouls the shooter, or he doesn't. Simple as that.

There's a difference between a legit offensive foul, and taking charges to draw the offensive foul.

In one case, the defender is actually hit/shoved/forced hard enough to be considered illegal contact, and the other is just jumping in the way of someone going up for a lay-up to draw a foul.

I say make the game tougher like in the 90s. If you ain't tough you are not going to get bail outs. You gotta murder the guy in order to get a whistle.
