Stackhouse Ejected in Game 5: Right Call?

Post#1 » by The Diesel » Wed Apr 30, 2008 1:41 am

Hey guys,

Obviously, the referees have come under a lot of criticism in recent days, and today's biggest controversy was Stackhouse getting ejected in the 4th quarter.

Did the refs get it right, or were they wrong to toss him out?

Well he drew a double-technical early in the game that was totally his doing (Paul shouldn't have gotten one there), and clearly asked for the final one by slapping the ball away after the whistle and then jawing at halfcourt.

The refs did the Mavs a favor.

It'll be interesting to see if Cuban complains about this; but I agree, the refs made the right call to eject him.

Didn't even poke the ball away, simply nailed Paul right in the stomach. He is a punk, should be suspended.

Paul definitely deserved a technical on that play... Stackhouse shouldn't have thrown that 'bow but Paul was clearly saying some not nice stuff after that play

^, but do you agree with the ejection?

That's the main question of this topic....was the ejection correct?

Seems everyone so far agrees the refs made the right call.

Yeah ejecting Stackhouse made sense.

Well of course the ejection makes sense, it was his second technical foul.

Two T's= ejection... it is simple as that.

WTF was he doing punching the ball out like that anyway? What purpose did that serve at all? He probably could have gotten tossed for trying to spark something after a dead ball.

But did they get the technical foul calls correct?

I mean, obviously two technicals results in an ejection, but were they correct in calling those two technicals against him?

Were those two calls the correct calls? Or did they get one or both of them wrong?

That's the question of this thread...

Yeah, I don't think anyone can dispute it... what's the point of this? Are we missing something here?

I mean, if Cuban complains, does he have any case or is there NO doubt in your minds that those 2 technical calls were the right ones?

That's the point of this thread...

He would actually probably be suspended if this series weren't over, he smacked the ball away from Chris Paul after a timeout I believe, and David West told him to step off, and when the refs were making both teams go back to there sideline, Stack kept heading for half court to continue the jawing.

The first was a double technical, and it was questionable on Paul, but no question on Stack.

For the Mavs POV, they would have a better chance if Stack had been ejected in the first quarter.

He deserved it, talking all the smack talk and playing like a girl.
