Dirk was a beast this series, and Brandon Bass was the only other player that should have been on the court.

Vince really wasn't in the picture for the Mavs though. First, Mavs were in the picture because Kidd wanted them to be. Secondly, their best prospect was a PG, so a PG for a PG swap made a lot of sense. Finally, even if the Nets were interested in dealing Carter to the Mavs, it wouldn't have been for Howard, since the Nets already have Jefferson, and if people thought Vince and RJ's game were too alike, then Howard and Jefferson would have even been worse (although JHO acted like he was Vince with a fourth of talent when he was jacking up shots left and right).
