Which position is the least valuable?

I'd say small forward. Scoring SF's are a dime a dozen

depends on the team, but it's usually your second best wing player IMO.

Every team in the league has a 6'6" guy who can put up 20 points. Most teams also usually have another 6'6"+ guy who is considered a "glue" guy. I say SF is the easiest position to fill, hence the least valuable.

Completely depends on what your team set up is and what the team you are playing against is set up in terms of players.

i say center, with the evolution of players the power forwards can easily shift to the 5 spot.

Depends how good the players at the other 3 position are, If you've got Garnett(PF)/Pierce(SF)/Allen(SG) you say PG.

If youve got Jamison(PF)/Butler(SF)/Arenas(PG) you say SG.

All depends who else you got in my opinion.

Most important is a center (and hardest to find). then a PG, then the other three about equally depending on where the talent is but the differences are less crucial in this day and age where offenses aren't all focused around the pivot and most wings can be primary ballhandlers. Roles aren't as defined as they once were, now you just find your best players and design the offense around them plus find a center to defend post offenses. (Don Nelson of course was way ahead of his day)

id say swingmen...the 2/3 positions. guys like Willie Green start and average double figures and no one really knows who these guys are.

OK but Kobe and Lebron are wing men and there are garbage players starting at every position in the NBA.

The Celtics, the best team in the NBA, have their worst starters at the the two "most important" positions.

There are generally more quality players at the 2/3/4 but that doesn't mean they are less valuable, just easier to get ahold of.

Shooting Guard and SF have essentially become the same thing since no one can actually shoot the ball anymore, and you usually have the same type of player playing both positions. Those two spots can be run by committee whenever you have a good point and center.

In the triangle, the PG is the least valuable. All the PG has to be able to do is shoot the lights out and defend. He doesn't even have to bring the ball up the court sometimes.

Well for the Pistons its the power forward spot.

It just depends on the team.

For the Suns its the small forward position.
For the Lakers its the point guard
For the Celtics its probably their center.

It depends on the team.

But in general, I would have to agree and say it is the 2nd wing man in most cases.
