Post#1 » by magicfan4life05 » Sat May 31, 2008 6:18 pm

There are so many story lines in this series:

1. History of Lakers vs. Celtics in Finals/Rivalry renewed

2. Celtics back in the Finals after 20 years (New Big 3)

3. Lakers back in the Finals since 2004 (Fisher, Kobe, Phil only remaining)

4. Kobe first time w/o Shaq, Can he win it all as the man?

5. KG and Ray first Finals appearance after so many years in the NBA

6. Pierce wanted out if Celtics didnt make a move, now in the Finals after so many years

7. Kobe demands to be traded last year, team in turmoil, now in the NBA Finals

8. Doc Rivers in the NBA Finals (Again how? :o )

9. Phil Jackson trying to break the record for Most Championships Ever (going against the team of the coach whom he is tied with...this one is just wow)

10. Lakers franchise trying to tie the Celtics with 16 NBA Championships

11. Celtics trying to extend their total NBA championships to 17 big ones (they lead everyone now with 16)

12. Both teams werent very good last year, both made huge trades, both back to relevance and elite status

13. Both GM's were on the verge of being fired last year, now they finished EOY as first/second respectively

14. Lakers trying to closeout the decade how they started (and cement their legacy as the team of the decade)

15. Both franchises combined have a total of 31/60 NBA Titles

16. Most stories franchises in sports going at it for the ultimate prize, (the historic legends of each team sitting courtside at the games watching the present stars :o )

If so, stern and abc/disney corporation are the happiest people alive....
Dwight Howard on his FT struggles:

"I just think everybody needs to stop talking about it," Howard said. "There's more to life than free throws."

It would be even better if the Lakers continued where they left off in 1987. :D
