Allan Houston STILL talking comeback

Post#1 » by mrfatwrecker » Thu Jun 5, 2008 7:54 am

After last year's try out and failure for the Knicks, you think Houston would learn that his services aren't needed anymore. Turns out, he's proved us wrong.

Suns' Draft Workouts Include Allan Houston

Jun 05, 2008 3:34 AM EST

Former Knick shooting guard Allan Houston has been a regular for workouts at US Airways Center and may be a possibility for the Suns in 2008-09, the Arizona Republic is reporting.

Houston visited Suns forward and former teammate Grant Hill in April to see what the Suns' acclaimed athletic trainers did for him and others with tough health histories.

Houston retired in 2005 because of knee problems, and had a failed comeback attempt with the Knicks this season that lasted only one preseason game.

I remember at jam session in houston during all-star weekend he taught me and my friend the proper way how to shoot.

Dude should just give it up.

Let him keep doing this and embarrassing himself. With the money he has and his apparent desire to get back into the NBA, you'd think he'd be doing the NBADL or something as a free agent trying to prove himself.

Its kind of sad actually.

Houston is an idiot.

Yeah, I love how the Chicago Tribune's purported trade was #1 + filler for Wade + #2. There are just so many things wrong with that. I imagine the journalists were just sitting around spouting out nonsense in a circle jerk and tried to get the ball rolling on the dumbest trade rumor I've heard since 2002.

What was the trade rumour in 2002?

It was a hyperbole. I was going to say since the Gasol trade, but IMO giving up Wade to move up one spot in the draft and take on Nocioni or whatever contract the Bulls don't want would be infinitely dumber.

I don't get how Houston is an idiot... He made all that cold cash and now he's coming back for the love of the game.

Would you rather Houston take a page out of Darius Fat Miles (picture) book?

He's an idiot because he couldn't make it through one preseason game last year with the KNICKS, and now he's trying to make another comeback.

Somebody is probably going to throw a couple million bucks at a guy like Kwame Brown this offseason. With that still happening I have no big problem with Houston coming back and earning the vet's minimum somewhere. I believe he's probably still better than Penny Hardaway (currently anyway) and we all know Penny played a few games last year. If he can convince a team to sign him more power to him.

If he can still make 3s, I think he'll fit in fine for the Suns.

I don't understand the Houston hate. The guy is trying to come back and play the game he loves and you call him an idiot? I call that honorable.

Would you let Isiah Thomas tell you that your career was over? Plus, it's different now. He's had plenty more time to get healthier, stronger, and better.

the knicks were a bad team that needed a savior and houston was going back there out of regret for taking all their money and sitting at home.

the suns are a team who may or may not be a title contender and could use another good rotation player.

two completely different situations and getting open shots from amare in the post and nash throwing passes is completely different from nate robinson and eddy curry

his buddy Latrell should be the one trying to get back in the NBA. Houston has a broken body while Latrell is just broke. go figure.

Still better? There was probably only one season, when he was better. And it's not like Penny was horribly anyway last season.....he just had to play for the Heat.
And for those guys who say Houston can't make it, because he couldn't make it with the Knicks.....Houston was only signed for PR reasons. After the MSG lost the trial Dolan had to do something to make him look better.
