Yeah.. I was thinking the samething the other night.. The Celtics have been dubbed the Big 3 and other variations of that term... So, like you said to eat up the all the media coverage the NBA will get, they may give it to the big 3.

The Truth, He's really impressed me in these playoffs, and he raises his intensity level again in the finals. He deserve it.

Re: Who wins Finals MVP
As of now, Pierce deserves to be named MVP. He's been the most consistent player for the winning team. However, if the Lakers can miraculously steal both games on the road, I think Kobe packs up the award.

Pierce should win it unless Ray has a ridiculous game 6. If the series goes 7 then it could be up for grabs.

Pierce. He's easily been the best player in this series for either team, and is playing both ends of the floor on an incredible level.

Re: Who wins Finals MVP
If Boston wins then PP.
To say he's been playing at an "incredible level on both ends of the floor" is just a bold faced lie. He's shooting sub .300 in the 4th quarter. He got ripped twice in the closing minutes of game 5... which probably lost the game for the C's. He put up 6 points and 6 TO's in game 3. He's been kept off the boards by Vladimir freakin Radmonivic. He's averaging nearly as many fouls and TOs as assists and rebounds.
For all this talk of his defense it's been a relative non-factor in 5.75 games. Fish and Radman (his two defensive assignments) are open quite a bit. He's still letting Ray Allen attempt to guard Kobe down the stretch (it's not working BTW)... Defensively, he's been no.4 or 5 in this series behind KG, Kobe, Perkins, and Gasol. A distant 5th too. Hell, I'd say Fisher and Odom are playing equal or better defense than PP so far.
If the Lakers win then Kobe.

Re: Who wins Finals MVP
haha alright I agree Bgill. In reality Kobe's just having a very poor shooting stretch in what has essentially been against the defense pressure of a shootaround

Re: Who wins Finals MVP
Kobe has completely disappeared for long stretches of these past 2 games. Game 3 was the only great game he has had, and even then his sub-par free throw shooting kept Boston in the game. If Pierce plays well in the next two games, he deserves MVP even if Boston loses. He has been by far the best player on the court in this series.

I've never been a Pierce fan but he's impressed me so far.

Bold faced lie, 6 points and 3 TOs.

LOL @ Bilge trying to downplay Pierce's play in this series when he's been thoroughly outplaying Kobe. Hell, Ray's played Kobe to a virtual standstill this series all things considered.
Kobe has been the clear cut third best player in the series, though, I'll give you that.

Re: Who wins Finals MVP
Kobe : 26.4 pts (42.2%) 5.0 reb 5.8 ast 3.0 steals 3.8 TO
Pierce : 22.8 pts (45.3%) 4.8 reb 5.6 ast 1 steal 4 TO
Not to say Kobe plays better than PP, he should play better, but he's not that horrible, like Pierce said : "Kobe is the whole focus for us. He's a guy who can beat you all by himself, so the whole game plan is surrounding and stopping him and making other guys beat us."
Pierce has more freedom, playing most of the time one on one

I'd hardly say they've played Pierce one-on-one. Pierce's defense has been better and he's hit more big shots than Kobe. There's not even a comparison at this point. Pierce has been a far more important player in Boston's wins than Kobe has been in LA's wins.
