Re: Jason Kidd:"Avery was crazy"...
Nets fan here.
J Kidd is an a hole, look there's a reason why almost every guy that coached him eventually got fired (ironically the one that should have been fired-Lawrence Frank didnt).
I have no ressentment towards him anymore for the way he left the Nets right now I just pitty him, he's just another aging bitter former all star who will suck a **** for a ring.

Re: Jason Kidd:"Avery was crazy"...
There is not a quote from Jason Kidd that says this. This is just someone saying that he said this to someone else. I can guarantee you that the majority of Mavs players were done with Avery by the time Kidd got here, and I think the front office was as well. This is not a Jason Kidd quote, or Jason Kidd getting anyone fired. This is a non-issue that everyone is blowing out of proportion.

Kidd may have problems with coaches, but he's 100% right on this one.

Kidd was a horrible fit in Avery's offense, let the guy push the ball, he's an all time great at it, even at his age.
Kidd is def number 1 but Steve Nash is a close second.
He is not a outside shooting threat but he is def an offensive threat.
But that was an idiotic trade. Made no sense because they have nobody to run with Jason Kidd. Dirk has 2 left feet. Josh Howard is going to be coughing up resin and Dampier wont even make it passed half court. It was just a bad fit, and the blame should primarily fall on Cuban.

A couple of things because I've already seen some dumb accusations start to pop up:
- Byronn Scott was fired from NJ because not a single one of NJ's 3 best players could stand him anymore (Kidd, Martin, Jefferson).
- The only coach that I've never heard Kidd bash is Lawrence Frank (LOL).

Look at Dirk's numbers after the trade, and during the trade rumors. If all this deal did was get our superstar's confidence back up, then it was a good deal. This team had become stagnant, and Cuban did something to get the fans attention again, and send a message to the rest of the players that we would do anything to win it all.

I don't think Nash is close at all to be honest, Kidd came straight into Dallas during the second half of the season and put up better assist numbers than Nash ever did, and he didn't even get the benefit of any Don Nelson offense, only the Avery "offense."
Nash is a guy who's shooting makes him much more dangerous, defenders are more willing to help out on him and what not, and he didn't flourish as a prolific playmaker until he had a perfect offense for him.
I personally think Nash is 3rd at best, behind Kidd and then Paul. Kidd is clearly the top of that though IMO, he's not a threat to score the ball, you don't have to double him, you don't have to put your top defender on him, you don't have to gear a D to stop him, yet he still can somehow find any open man....

You guys are forgetting John Stockton, who is clearly no 1 here and arguably even better than Magic (Magic was amazing player, better than Stockton, but Stockton was clearly better at the point).

I would say Kidd is definitely the best pure passer I've ever seen..his vision is just disgusting..
the 2 best passes I THINK I've ever seen were Kidd's left hand no-look alley-oop from near half court to KMart, and Kidd's off the backboard pass to Lebron on team USA(Lebron missed the dunk though)..I have no idea how anybody can make passes like that..

+1. He's made a career out of some arbitrary stat.

Kidd in his prime was quite possibly the most insane passer ever, his playmaking was just disgusting..he was also one of the best defenders at his position

And being probably the best rebounding PG of all time. There's no doubt Kidd was a great player, is a lock first-ballot HOFer, and a "winner," whatever that means. But he's not very good right now, and it's kind of sad to see him bashing his coach as if it was Avery's fault. What was Kidd going to do in a different system? Get even MORE assists? He was already passing on half his possessions, he has started to turn the ball over a lot, and he's basically totally unwilling to shoot. That, and he got torn apart by Chris Paul and every other fast PG he's been asked to guard the last few years.
