THUNDERCATS is not the official name. Those summer league commentators were taking e-mail suggestions during the first day of summer league and said they'd take the best one, and for teh rest of the week call Oklahoma City by that name.

I kind of like that name. It's way better than all those other names that are in contention.

I can already imagine the announcer screaming "Thunder, thunder... Thundercats... HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

They were tossing out names left and right while they were announcing Monday's game. They even accidently dropped one that was less than uh, PC (though I don't think they meant it in that way). OKC was bombing from 3 on Monday so one of the guys tossed out the name "Oklahoma City Bombers". :eek1:
