please, Camby is overrated on defense but you guys are going overboard.....put in a good scheme with a good coach and lets see how he does..hes quick for a 7 footer, he can guard 4s well. Oh, and 13 rebounds a game..

When I saw this yesterday, I was like everybody... just wow

I understand they want to clear cap space, but damn, definitely could of got something better for Camby. Because of that, this is a strange, stupid move by them. They must be relying on Nene at C, but that's a big-time gamble. Which favors to not turn out well, hopefully it doesn't for Denver and Nene's sake. I really like Nene from what he's been able to show so far.

For the Clippers it's interesting and definitely improves them, think they can definitely make a playoff run as a low seed. Camby's gambling on defense should be improved under Dunleavy and being in a slower system, he is a mobile player, just not a strong player. But Kaman can help out with his strength.

Clips have a pretty good team right now.

Definitely out of nowhere with this trade

Im surprised no one else was in the mix. There are plenty of teams that could use camby for simply a 2nd rounder. Now denver pretty much has to trade AI and rebuild though. If they don't, this trade looks really bad.

....okay everybody, repeat after me: no one else had the cap space to take Camby for free. Stop acting surprised that the Nuggets couldn't get more, or upset that your team didn't offer something else, because there was no competition for this deal. This was not a strategic move, they were not "thinking" anything about how this would improve their team. The owner did not want to pay as much luxury tax as he otherwise would have.

Wrong. The Nuggs didn't get ANYTHING. They got the rights to switch second round picks in a couple years. That's the lowest possible offering over absolutely nothing. The switch of picks may not even happen and at best its going to be a few spots difference in the second round.

The Nuggs could have gotten more than that just by walking away and forcing the Clippers hand even without there being any other competition. Had they actually acquired a second round pick (as opposed to getting the rights to possibly swap one) it would have been a step up.
