Re: Celtics Re-Sign Eddie House and Tony Allen
true ray allen really wasn't in a slump against atlanta. paul pierce on the other hand stunk it up in that series imo. barely attempted any shots and he really wasn't all that aggressive - maybe josh smith falling on his paul's head and then taking his sweet time getting off paul all while crushing paul's body had something to do with it from game one? who knows. no one from boston brought their game to atlanta. the only one that kinda came close was kg. as for the hawks - they flat out disappeared in boston - even when they were trying they were blown out - i recall game 5 the hawks really giving their best effort but they still lost by double digits iirc.

When we signed Posey last year, there was nothing in his resume that ordained him as THE ANSWER. His biggest asset was playoff experience having won a ring in Miami. Now, we have 9 guys on the roster who have won a ring and know what it takes to win a championship. My guess is that we'll use the regular season to see if any of the rookies or Tony Allen can fill the role. If not, we'll have to make some sort of deal at the trade deadline.
Also, there is talk that Ainge will sign Devean George, who has significant playoff experience from the Lakers.
Posey didn't only bring playoff experience, he brought something so few in this league can bring, the little things to a team; aka the intangibles.
Posey's going to be a HUGE loss for the Celtics. Maybe not in the regular season, but definitely in the post-season.

they are still going to be a contender and better than most teams in their conference and now finally that weird small ball thing doc used to do with posey at the 4 is done with - they'll be fine

Oh I wish that were true but if I remember correctly he has used Pierce at the 4 before so I wouldn't be surprised if he did it again this year with TA sliding at the 3.

oh no no my friend. you apparently arent familiar with our roster. otherwise you would have realized we have the reigning MVP of intangibles in the one and only, Brian Scalabrine.
