My initial response was that this was just a ploy by him and his agent to try and gain some leverage. The fact he was born in England is the only thing that makes me think there is even a remote possibility of this happening. But who knows, stranger things have happened.

Come on, that's ridiculous.

Ben has been such a professional while here. He's always polite in the media, never takes personal things public and he works on his game litteraly all the time. He's gotten a bad rep for his salary demands, but surely you cannot fault an NBA player for wanting to get paid. Hell, he's led the team in scoring the past three seasons and his defense has improved to a point where he's now average.

It's statements like those that just confirms that some outside fans have absolutely no idea on what kind of players the Bulls have. Seriously, even the highly respected Luol Deng has worked up more controversy than Ben Gordon over the course of his Chicago career.

Do some research before you post.

Agreed. Clearly, this guy is a paycheck-player. How unfortunate. If I were an NBA GM, I would have serious doubts about signing a guy as focused on his pay day as Ben Gordon.

Didn't Ben Gordon start WWII?

Ben Gordon needs a certain type of PG next to him so he can thrive, Chicago happens to have two of them.

He can claim whatever he wants. The OWNERS of the team, two rich brothers stated they did in fact make an offer to him. You are talking about the team's general manager says to the Chicago press about a matter in trying to steal him from the Bulls.

The owners of the team said that Gordon and his agent didn't accept the offer but they made it very clear AFTER Childress was signed Gordon was offered more than Childress got. I don't care if you don't believe it.

do u have one simple source before expecting people to just let you dismiss a team official's own words? it shouldn't be that hard with the numerous reports u previously mentioned.

Lakers_4_Life got pwned.

Nobody in the nba will pay 10 million for an undersized backup. He can't start at pg and he's too short to start at sg. He's going to be a career backup.

Indeed.

It's important to note the kind of offense we played with Skiles and Boylan compared to which offense that suits Ben best. Skiles played the pick and roll with Kirk Hinrich & Ben Wallace which basically needed to be reset half the time. In that setting, Gordon was locked into the corner just waiting for the kick-out.

Now, one major flaw with that play is the very fact that Ben is a career 41% shooter from downtown and teams know this. At no point will a defender rotate to cover Ben Wallace (as he is crap on offense) and let Ben get an open three.

When Boylan arrived he opened up the offense, which suited Ben quite nicely. People assume Ben played better because he came off the bench, but that just isn't the case. He began coming off screens and curls and basically played the Richard Hamilton role very well. However, Boylan was a complete (Please Use More Appropriate Word) when it came to minute distribution and had no adjustment pattern.. Like, at all!

He's also been forced into being the first option as he is the only (read that again) player on the Bulls who can create his own shot/offense on a consistent basis.

When the Bulls have played up-tempo teams they have been forced to turn up their own tempo to match intensity. In those games, Ben flurrished as a general scorer who could attack off the dribble as well as being a catch and shoot option.

With Derrick Rose in the fold, Chicago now has two creators which could definitely be a huge advantage in the long run. I'm really hoping Ben signs for 6 seasons with us. I love his game, and am so glad neither Skiles or Boylan will be there to mess with the offense.

No, but he lost it.
