If he is so appreciated by the Warriors, then why did Nellie send him to the bench temporarily when they picked up Webber?

Nelson tweaked starting lineups almost daily based on matchups. Webb was also "promised" the opportunity to start as part of his comeback agreement. He didn't want to be embarassed comming off the bench, or getting DNP-CD's; he preferred to be embarassed on the floor by playing like a cripple. Dre continued to get his minutes, starting on and off throughout the Webber experiment with the exception of the period he was out recovering from an appendectomy. (Is that the stretch you're thinking of?) There was some minor talk around the W's board that Nellie poisoned Dre's food to clear the way for his promise to Webber, but we never found any confirmaiton.

LOL at that last sentence.

But yeah, I forgot that Webber came off the bench only about 4 times in his entire career, that's pretty amazing. The thing with him is that he couldn't run with us and slowed us down. I mean, if we had a legit 20/10 post scoring big man then I wouldn't mind if we slowed down, but we slowed down just to see Webber airball.

Warrior fans should be happy. Biedrins is a very solid young player. In today's NBA, paying 9 million a year for a double double 22 year old is a very good deal.

the flip side: leading the league means he is also leading all the other guys who don't shoot jumpers either. Any way you skins it, he's doing something right.

A guy leads the league in a category and we shouldn't mention it when discussing him? Interesting...

Anyway, with Okafor signing a 6yr/$72M offer, Biedrins for 6/$54M looks like even more of a steal.

Last time I checked, they all count two points (unless you shout from beyond the arc). Shaq and Wilt, how many Js did they shoot? I didn't hear anybody raggin' on them because most of their shots were dunks and close in. All it got them was a few MVPs, Scoring titles, HOF, etc. I'm OVIOUSLY NOT comparing him to Wilt and Shaq, I'm just mearly pointing out that neither one of those guys shot 3 pointers and made their points inside which is not a bad thing. Who wouldn't want to have Height, Wingspan and Jumping ability and wouldn't choose to take advantage of it? Most guys don't come in because they're afraid they're going to get batted away so they develop an outside shot. Your bigs that prefer shoot from the outside and who don't want to play the inside game are actually "soft" in my opinion. Biedrens is a man. lol.
