I actually use that move a lot. I'm about 5'11 and have relatively big hands. I can palm the ball off a weak dribble but not off a catch or rebound. That move is rather easy because you're palming the ball from a stationary position.

Players attributed with big hands are usually poor or streaky shooters, and at the same time great finishers. (That might be why big men are usually poor shooters.)Of course it doesn't mean that players with big hands won't/can't be good shooters, it just might be a little harder.

Lebron, and Wade are perfect examples probably two of the best finishers in the league, but streaky shooters both have huge hands.

(This is mostly from a little theory that has been discussed for a while about Big hands among Celtics fans. Rajon Rondo also has huge hands and isn't the greatest shooter as you know.)

I don't buy that argument at all. Big men are poor shooters bc they don't practice mid to long range jumpers as the shorter guys. That's why. Look at Yao's free throw shooting, it's almost perfect and I'm sure he has HUGE hands. Look at Dirk. Look at Vince Carter. He has giant hands too but he was a better 3-pt shooter than Kobe ever was (at least talking in strict %s)

Besides, big hands allow more control of the ball. As a result, more time/grip for the follow-through which usually gets a better shot.

Kobe is the closest I've seen to having that same body control, IMO it's what separates him physically from T-Mac, VC, etc. (In their primes of course)

I'm sure this has been posted a million times, but come on. He didn't "copy" Doctor J, that's absurd. Just look at his ability to finish around the rim, it's as if he would jump, read the defense, then make adjustments in air to get the shot off.

Then you haven't seen much. Vince easily has more body control than Kobe and likely, Jordan too.

Ridiculous

Wow that dunk is insane!

Must be very rare. I wonder what year that was. Looking at MJs build it looks like the early nineties.

Look how far he brings the ball back. MJ just moves differently than any ballplayer Ive ever seen
