Andre Miller is better than Andre Iguodala? Don't think so.

He will make an All-Star game at least once in his career, but he is a Pippen, not a Jordan. He will never be good enough to lead his team to the promised land.

Pippen is a top 50 player of all-time and led his team deep into the playoffs a year after suffering the biggest lost any team has ever faced.

Iggy looked lost in the playoffs. He doesn't have close to the offensive capabilities necessary to lead a good team in scoring. He's a support player.[/quote]

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you've just completely agreed with the statement made by Buckeye. I don't think he intended to compare Andre's skill level to that of Pippen.

It was actually my post, the quoting got messed up. But I was in no way shape or form comparing him to the skill level of Pippen. I was simply saying he is that type of player, a support player.

With Brand in town look for Dala's scoring average to take a sizable dip.

actually you have no idea what your talking about. Iggy is a great #2 option. He was still young when A.I was in town and hadnt yet blossomed. He was timid and needed a kick in the @$$ to get out of his shell. You would see a completely differant basketball player if Iverson returned. You must not watch the sixers very often, if at all because Igoudala does not dominate the ball. If anything, its the opposite. Cheeks FORCED iggy to have the ball in his hands the second half of the season. When iggy does have his hands on the ball, he is always looking to make plays for other players. Nobody is saying iggy will remain averaging 20 but that will make for higher percentage shots and more assists.

I never said I would take Baron over Brand for the same amount of money. But if you're talking about a player who can lead a team, take the big shot and put a team on his back when they need somebody to takeover...Baron is better than Brand in all of those things. This is not sour grapes.

Iggy has proven that he is nothing as a #2. Iggy "blossomed" after Iverson and Webber were sent packing. As soon as those two players were removed from the team and Iggy was given the green light to hog the ball then his production skyrocketed. But the Pistons had showed the entire world that Iggy isn't a #1 and Iggy's past has proven that he isn't much of a #2. He's just a utility player that can do a little bit of everything but he excels when he is given freedom to create and score as the #1 option. But again he is a fake #1 option. Iggy sucked at being a #2 option in the playoffs when Detroit shifted their double teams towards Miller and Green. Iggy will suck this season. Look for him to score 14-15ppg 5 assists 5 rebounds 2 steals with his bloated $80 million on the books. Iggy wasn't so much of a "young" inexperienced player when Iverson and Webber were around as he was an "misused" or "underutilized" player. Iggy can not play off of the ball because he sucks at catch and shooting and he is a poor finisher around the basket if he can not dunk the ball.

I think it's a fair contract based on Igoudala's potential but as if last year I don't think he deserves that kind money at this point for a 19-5 guy...But I guess we'll see a lot players get overpaid these kiind of days.
