Interesting Fact about the Dallas Mavericks

Post#1 » by JordansBulls » Sat Aug 16, 2008 5:23 am

They have won 51+ games in their last 8 years.

2000-2001 - 53-29
2001-2002 - 57-25
2002-2003 - 60-22
2003-2004 - 52-30
2004-2005 - 58-24
2005-2006 - 60-22
2006-2007 - 67-15
2007-2008 - 51-31

This is a team of continued success in the season and as a Bulls fan I would love to have success like this over a 8 year period of time now.

Wins are all nice, but Dallas has nothing to show for it, and as a fan it's been very frustrating.

No championship, no ultimate success.

Thats the way I see it.

Also, you brought this same thing up like a week ago. Its interest level kinda wears down after you post it time after time.

You just copied/pasted your post from your other thread.

They've been a really good team in two different styles, and I've always enjoyed watching them

But Dallas has lacked that relatively legit paint scorer to pair with Dirk...

Even as a Rockets fan i admire that job, you need to be very consistent to make it.

I feel that they once againg hve the wrong coach if Jason Kidd is on that team. If I'm not mistaken is Rick a half court offence guy? If I'm wrong please let me know!!!!!!!!!!

Didnt the jazz make the playoffs like 15-20 straight years without winning anything? Not to take anything away from their success though.

Good regular season team, bad playoff team.

There are going to be many NBA teams that continue the same streaks as Dallas. Phoenix, Houston and many of the Eastern Conference teams can be included if they don't win anything. That goes for Lebron James and Cleveland as well. I don't see Lebron winning a ring anytime soon, but yet the blame will be placed on his peers and not him. Now that Boston is the best Eastern team, it should continue to bounce teams back from winning a ring, and if teams can get past them they still need to get past the Western Conference.

Excuse me? Atlanta actually won a World Series during their run. Even winning one means all the difference compared to the likes of many of the NBA teams during the past and present.

the blazers made the playoffs 21 or 22 years in a row, got to a couple nba finals but never won one. now we have taken 6 years off from the playoffs so next season will be a nice taste for the future!

Everyone who follows the league know of the spurs consistant sucess. Stop tooting you own teams horn. the point of this thread is to show how good the mavs have always been, and to suggest they may be getting massively underrated going into next season.

It really tells you how good Dallas has been when 51-52 wins is seen as a down year. (This year, '03/'04)

Mavericks fans: Don't be upset because your team didn't win it all. By comparison, my favourite team has never won as many games in a single season as you guys have in the worst of those eight seasons. Think about that for a second.

I can't say I feel bad for the Mavs though..there's no excuse for choking a 2-0 lead in the finals, only to lose to ONE man(albeit he had one of the greatest finals runs of all-time)..67 wins but lose to an 8th seed? nobody is going to deny that the Mavs have been a GREAT regular season team..their best player even won an MVP award..but like others here have said, it means nothing without a title..

at least they made the finals though, unlike the Suns..

Not during the latter half though. A lot of those contracts were from guys who are no longer with the team.

Well, besides the impressive streak of 50+ win seasons, they do also have a division title and a conference title.

Not quite a championship, but worth noting.
